I don't have the RAC unit any longer mate so I can't really help TBH.

Although hacking any WinCE unit is the same for all WinCE based machines.

I've currently got one of those cheap machines from ASDA for £37, and I've got iGo8 running on it, the software it came with was actually worse than the RAC200, lol.

lol well with mine, i cant seem to uopdate maps and trying to use it in durham, dont even bother. you'd have better look putting a blind fold on, spinning round ten times, jumping in the vehicle and try and find the place ya self. piece of shit lol

lol, you talking about the ASDA machine?

MyGuide 3218UK or your old RAC 200?

mine mate, it gets lost in durham, i need a satnav for my satnav.

lol, as long as the receiver is solid enough, then you'll probably find that changinf the software will make a massive difference, it's the software that makes or breaks these things.

I had TomTom and iGo8 on the RAC 200 I had, it made a massive difference to the machine.

for some reason when i press the navigation button, it doesnt load for me. dunno why and its pissing me off, especially as i downloaded homers voice aswell. D'oh

Usually your box will be set to load 1 executable only, it'll ignore any other .exe unless you have hacked the actual WinCE OS, in that case you will boot into WindowsCE and be presented with a windows desktop, from there you can choose which Sat Nav app to load -it basically turned your Sat Nav into a full blown WinCE PDA.

Anyway, I'm going off-topic here, the trick is to rename the executable of the new software you are installing to the same name that your original machine used, otherwise WinCE won't see it.

Have you tried something else like iGo8? I prefer that to TomTom anyway.

i did rename the file to the same as the original name but still no luck.

i havnt tried the other one as i spent ages downloading tom tom but am willing to give it a try.

thought i'd post a full easy to use guide also:

>download the files from witchys post (https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/index.php?threads/212697/)
>unzip to your harddrive
>copy all files of your sd to a safe location
>make sure no files on your sd
>Copy the mobilenavigator and the United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland_v830.2307 folder to your sd from the file you unzipped
>put sd in your rac - turn it on
>when you get the error click voucher
>this will put you into win ce
>turn sat nav off
>sd back in computer should be a file called tt_navigator.bif
>open this in notepad, note the DeviceUniqueID
>go into the maps folder on the sd copy the meta & pna file
>place it in keygen8/dct_file location in the files from witchy
>right click on the open_me.cmd file then select edit from the dropdown menu. Find this line 'SET /P p=Voer je Devicecode hier in zonder spaties. Voorbeeld AADH28JB92:' replace AADH28JB92 with your own 10 digit Unique ID, and save
>now double click open_me, it should say ok (if not ensure you've used capitals)
>go into the dct_file and copy the newly visible dct file onto your sd card in the same location as the meta and pna file
>put sd back in your rac
>touch screen the screen, select change preferences, goto screen6 select gps status
>select configure, other nmea, baud 19200,com7

and thats it - easy huh!!:banana::Clap::Clap:

Guys,

I also done this fine on my RAC. But I think the RAC200 has died since. Can you install the tomtom on a windows CE 6.0 machine?

can anyone help update an RAC satnav200 as the maps are well out of date?

Stick TomTom Navigator 7 with the uptodate maps on it. Seen pages 1-3 on this message tread for download and how-to. Works a treat

ive just done this works fine, pixy69 on your sd card copy the contents of the mobilenavigator file to the root directory of your sd card and rename the mobilenavigator file to R66Navigate7 then put the sd card back in the sat nav then click navigate and you will get a red screen saying the maps aren't activated press the continue button on there then it will crash and give you the voucher button and you can follow the rest of the above instructions

ive attached a screenshot to show you how the root folder of your sd card needs to look,
