Hi,
I am running into trouble with my sound. Ever since I installed a new motherboard(P8H61-M PRO), I have had glitchy and crackiling audio which stops games working it seems to get worse when multitasking or if im watching tv and open the epg on the media center program on my HTPC. I have contacted ASUS, the makers of the motherboard, and they said updating the audio drivers, same problem. I hope you can help me. If you need them, these are my specifications I sent to ASUS:

Using on board audio? have you updated driver and done a fw update on mother board?

If not internal again try driver update or putting in a different pci slot :)

That you've not mentioned a dedicated sound card I assume you are using the onboard sound?

Onboard sound is notorious for conflicts, try a descrete card such as: (from most expensive)
  • Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 - with this you'd loop the HDMI lead from your GFx card to the Xonar and then to your TV/HDMI amp.
  • Asus Xonar D2X - has optical and coax S/PDIF out.
  • Asus Xonar D1 - has a S/PDIF header on the card to connect to your graphics card.
