It was working OK..

I haven't reset anything but I cannot FTP or connect to the box via the IP address assigned by the router's DHCP.

  1. I have checked the patch lead (CAT 5 Ethernet cable) which works seamlessly from the router to my laptop.
  2. Check both ports at the back of the box and router. Both Ethernet ports are lit up.
  3. Box is assigned by a local IP of 192.168.0.7.
  4. It's receiving a static IP address too (Internet).

Yet I cannot FTP or access box interface via browser (Firefox) using the box IP address (192.168.0.7).

I was able to FTP with root as username and a blank password and access control panel of the box via Firefox using 192.168.0.7.

Turned off/on router, rebooted box few times, but to no avail. What's wrong?

I see a conflict. You have said it has a static IP and also have mentioned that router assigns IP using dhcp.

Can you enable dhcp on receiver and reboot then try again.

Static IP for the Internet, suggesting that it's connecting to the outside world, and local IP address is assigned by DHCP indicating that a connection to my local network is established.

Yet I cannot browse to the box page using the IP address assigned by DHCP (192.168.0.7).
