However, I have it on good authority that the cost will be met by the server.

out of curiosity guys what do you recieve on these recievers ? full package + sky movies channels ?
whats the picture quality like , any breaking up ,loss of signal etc ?
since the dreamboxes went down i havent bothered . i was thinking of buying one just for over the christmas period ,to be honest i thought vermin might have taken the servers down by now

What if the server also act as a host for the American Forces, the UK Army or even the Whitehouse and Downing Street?
Its not that easy when you think of it.

All subscription channels including Sports and Movies.
The only ones you dont get are the PPV off the shelf movies and adult channels. The Sports Box Office has been on as well.
Afaik, its all normal linear channels (excepting maybe the porn). Thats any channel transmitted continuously !!!
PPV & special events are not normally covered although, for some strange reason, the KV lot seem to of provided some PPV special events (boxing). Perhaps they are boxing fans ???

I would say more "speculators" something that's done to "Accumilate" and it seems to be working.
Cant see that adding a few PPV events would increase sales that much. Would anyone actually buy a KV box just for a bit of boxing ???
Ultimately, I cant see them adding too many PPV events to the lineup.

the picture quality is just the same as before as your box is still getting the signal from the cable feed, the server part is purely data to get the keys reqd to open up the pay channels so that does no affect the picture quality in any way.
the old starviews ect will not work as there is no lan port on them to connect to the internet, the old boxes therefore at the moment are of no use and i dont think they ever will be as they were designed for a hacked system without a need for internet connection, and as we all know this is now cardsharing and not a hack.

the kryptview team are keeping there customers happy putting on a ppv
its from there server , as you will see on an a780 the h/d channels are there when the new h/d box comes out feb/march they are hoping for big sales
once they saturate the market then there server might have issues, until then enjoy
even now they are worth buying because i think you have a minnimum of 6/9 months and who knows what can happen
