Newbie needs HELP

Hi I'm new to the forum Just joined today. I've heard the new boxes in the shops wont take the chipped card. I was thinking of buying one but dont want to be stuck with a lemon. I already have a stupid dish stuck on the side of the house. Can anyone help me ?

i have not heard this, my friend bought a box last week and it worked fine
