Hi, got someones laptop here i said i would take a look at and not getting very far, when you press power button the laptop seems to turn on, here all fans etc but screen is black and under the touchpad are some lights, only one lit is a half moon shaped which i believe means sleep mode, thats all it does, i have had it tunred on once, i disconnected the battery and just used the power supply and it booted, thats only time ive got it booting, all other times just as described above, like its stuck in some sort of sleep mode, its a msi cr630 laptop, anyone had same problem and know how to fix it ? Thanks

Have you tried an ATX reset?
Remove battery and power jack.
Press and hold power button for a few seconds - manufacturers recommend 15-30 seconds, but 5 is normally enough.
Reconnect the power, and try to boot normally.
