mods who delete threads for absolutely no reason

Sorry for having to create a new thread on this topic, but the announcement link which is supposed to explain this madness to me isn't available!

A few quick questions mods. Why create a rant room for people to come in and vent, then delete all of the threads, none of which contravene any of your rules?

Second question. In the grander scheme of things, this is a public forum, where people come to communicate and debate. Amongst other things. Again, why delete any of these threads?

If anyone is so petty and close minded enough to find them offensive, then like anything else in this world they don't need to read the thread.

Third and final question. If i started a thread protesting my right to wear a veil, would you delete that thread?

It is because they were getting out of hand, we have seen these types of posts over and over again, through out the years.

On past experience all these posts do, is cause tension between members.

there are other forums about if you want to debate!

the threads in question where becoming abusive and foul language was beginning to be used

and finally if you start a thread about wearing a veil yes it will be deleated

the rant room is for airing views on everything but when they become abusive the mods can use their descression to remove or close such threads

This is primarily a technical forum registration m8. There are plenty of political forums out there if you're not happy here.

Mods are human like us and even tho its a rant forum, theres always limits. Ie, in adult forum you would not post child porn. Theres always limits to things. I dont think its ever personal nor without just cause. They are mods for a reason, because their ability to moderate. Personally i think the mods on this forum are amazing and keep this forum better than most. Thats why i stick around.

As an example of what type of comments are not welcome.

PS - It's been pretty much covered the veil thing is not religious and is a personal choice.

I didn't see those posts. If that was the case, fair enough - follow your disciplinary rules for individual members. When it comes to posts, if you don't mind me making a suggestion, either edit the offensive posts or delete them. That way the posts where people voice a true and balanced argument are available for anyone interested.

Seems a little less harsh than deleting various threads because of a few muppets getting carried away.

editing and deleting and going through every individual posts is a hell of a lot of work for no pay mate. just accept the fact it was getting out of hand and enjoy the other aspects of the forum. im sure you didnt come here JUST to have a rant about religion. go to the freebies section theres loads to do there!
