at what part do you need to power the drive off and on within 1 second
is it as soon as you press the second yes or after it finishes erasing
does it say erasing finnished?

anyone?:xmas:

Depends.

What status drive returns on clicking Yes, 0xD0 or 0x80

0x80 is drive not present, but will send different CDB until 0x72 -> This causes most issues and Im not 100% on when to power off/on

0xD0 - I powered off/on instantly and it returned 0x72 will good SPi details.

ive just done another one and this time the sata drivers were uninstalled from the start
everything went perfect
got to the second yes and as soon as i pressed yes i saw the 0xD0 status
so off and on very quickly and all went well

thanks mate;)

Power cycle after erase is essential

Via + Erased chip = Freeze

JF doesnt 'use' PortIO drivers as a substitute driver, it needs it to write to ports other than 0x170/0x1F0

iv tryed everything jungle flash df32 df16 in dos, nothing will detect my drive i think its fecked?

I have just had a similar problem doing my third LiteOn.
Just saved the cwf file and my pc decided to reboot it's self. The liteon wont even eject now as there's no firmware on it.
I presume it's bricked.

Woody.

Cheers Dave, but the drive wont open or close using the conectivity kit so I can't set it.
I tried manually opening the tray and half closing it but the drive still wont be recognised.
jungleflash & dosflash32 won't recognise it either, as soon as I connect it up Windows runs really slow.

If you have got the key off it, there is no need to have it half open. Are you using a via sata card?

I have all 3 files off it
I am using the onboard nforce4 sata port

What can I say.

WELL DONE!

LiteOn back to life

Connect the SATA cable from the Xbox 360 to your PC / SATA card
and then turn on the PC and boot from the USB flash drive into DOS.
The Xbox 360 should still be off at this point!
Type in the following command, using your 4 digit port that you got

DosFlash 1.3 use:
DosFlash e xxxx 1 a0 1 4 D8 0
DosFlash 1.4 use:
DosFlash e xxxx 1 a0 1 4 C7 0

Note the spaces, they are very important. Put a space wherever you
see an underscore below. DO NOT type the underscores in DOS,
they are just for your reference here and to make the spaces easier
to see.
DosFlash_e_xxxx_1_a0_1_4_D8_0
or
DosFlash_e_xxxx_1_a0_1_4_C7_0
[press enter]
DosFlash16 will ask you if you want to resend the MTK Vendor Intro
command, enter Y for Yes. When you hit enter the drive status is
shown on the screen, it's something like 0x7F, this will change during
the next few steps.
Turn on the Xbox 360 and wait 2 or more seconds, status toggles
between 0x51 and 0xD1.
Turn off the Xbox 360 and wait 2 or more seconds, status will stay at
0xD1.
Turn on the Xbox 360, you should get a good drive status 0x73 and
erasing should begin automatically

After that you are good to flash
