i recently purchased a used gpu from ebay claiming to be a gtx470
however it had major issues doing anything even resembling gaming so after a lot of googling i think it has been crossflashed from something else,it would seem the gtx465 was good for this,
anyway ive gone and flashed the asus gtx465 bios to it and it seems to be performing a lot better than it was

i just wondered if there was anyway to check if i have either corrected a bad flash or underclocked my card or something.
cheers

Probably post a pic of the card mate first someone might be able to ID it

hmm, is there any text physically printed onto the card? You could use gpu-z but I think it may only tell you what the bios says, worth a try though!

gpuz/

yeah already tried that, and the card is pretty generic no markings or anything,i did get it off ebay so easy enough for somebody to change the blower...
just thought that maybe the true id may be stashed away in the eeprom or something etched on the board or something

Chip layout should tell you what it is that's why I mentiond a pic , but would still take some searching

The GTX 480 PCB uses 12 x 128MB memory ICs for 1.536GB

The GTX 470 PCB uses 10 x 128MB for 1.28GB

The GTX 465 uses a GTX 470 PCB but in a 8 x 128 layout for 1.024GB
