nah mate, without making this a "i think this n that" thread, i cant see that happening, for starters why start with sky movies 9 ?? iam sure if they were going to do summit they would do a whole group of channels rather than just one or two, dont you think ?? I dont care one way or the other as I dont use piss pace/sammy box's anyways

its not a think this and that thread m8-- {ntl/sky9/the porn/ and in a few months sky movies
its a bit more than 1 or 2 channels
wouldn't it be great if they tied the interactive into subscribers only {and then fucked the dbox's etc off
When you switch to Sky movies 9 etc you dont actually switch to the real channel. You go to a holding channel which displays the pin info/red button stuff. Associated with that placeholder channel is a stream with a small bit of javascript code which simply accepts and checks the PIN no and then downloads the real channel details from a special cc website (you can only connect to this website if you have an IP address in the correct range). Once the box has the details it will switch channel !
Dboxes etc dont care about javascript and addons etc. They simply scan for all transponders/streams etc and list them. If you select Sky movies 9 on a dbox you will likely get the holding channel asking for pin etc (though it obviously wont work) BUT also in the dbox channel list will be something like mov9_nopig (or some other reference depending on your area). This is the real movies 9 channel which you can watch perfectly normally !

, i was just trying to find out how pace/sammy people cant get the channel/s without doing the talkback nonsense, that all mate, pity there isnt a fix.lol, that would be fun and would certainly remove some of the smugness of the people who claim dboxes/dreamboxes are untouchable !
Just for reference, I can think of at least a dozen ways that these boxes could be hit very simply. Admitadely most would be fixable but somebody would actually have to fathom out the problem and fix it. I doubt if there are that many people around who could do that !
hmm, just thinking about it I can see at least two methods of scuppering these and all other clone boxes for good.

The only real fix would be to modify the box firmware. Other than that you are stuck with enabling talkback which is a very dangerous route to be taking. People seem to be of the opinion that the 2 - 3 seconds that talkback is enabled for is not enough time to be traced but dont count on it. 2 - 3 secs is an eternity for automatic test equipment.
A lot of green cabinets are now being retro-fitted with automatic fault monitoring and test equipment which is capable of doing some very interesting things. One of those things is the detection and recording of certain packet types on pre-settable frequencies. Potentially, this kind of setup could be used to track back right to your door !
Although I dont think its happening at the moment, it wouldn't suprise me if there is a move against clone modems using this type of test equipment sometime in the coming months !

nozzer if some of these channals go this way, like sky 9 witch i really dont care about, what if we put a talkback filter on there or are they a waste of money,and would we still get say sky 9,, i with the opuion what you said that the channel is not there ,when they ask for a pin it takes it to where it is

Reading this topic with interest
i got a pace 4000 done for my bro with atmega card before the big fry
but the dealer did not cut talkback
i did not know this and my bro did not have a scooby what solid Green light ment
I took his box redone atmega and cut TB now i can push red button and get movies 9,,10 and all porn by entering pin
I know talk back is cut because i have flashing second light and no interactive service ,,says unavailable so there must be a way of keepin it on but dont as how i done it as i said just made new card and cut TB

he can still get movies because somehow he new the oringal pin number, clone boxs can still get them as long as they got there oringal pin numbers before they modded it, the proplem is if they pull the red jumper the oringal pin will not work, and you wont get sky 9,,,,think i,m right anyway, any 1 else
got a sammy, get all the porn and every channel except movies 9. mate has same box gets porn movies 9 but can't get one channel that has the footy on??? i can understand if you loose the porn and 9 . but why only movies 9????
yes m8, that would be normal for an excw or tw area, {you get the pin option to access these channels with tb cut}
its diffrent on ntl though{ you need to reconnect tb everytime you want to access the pin option for 1 of these channels}--"you can disconnect tb again once youve entered your pin"
