help v5 psx

here we go . got psx2 v5 the s number ends with r got ar2 /neo2.2 most games work but robotwars will not/the big prob is it will not boot dvdr the ea method does not work tray will not open.gone to psx sites thay say v5 the ea method will not work so what the hell will .do i need to get a neo 5 chip put in.please help im going mad trying to get dvdr to work <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

they need to be patched with th EA patcher m8.

by the way have u got the diagrams for the chipping of v5 boards(just want to check them against the one i have as they dont seem to work)

i put the patches robotwars but no good still will not boot it up . been told that v5 will not boot bvdr im trying to find a wire diagram ill let u know when i get one m8

1. put in ar2 disk in the tray.<br />2. press and hold reset so the ps2 will go to standby mode.<br />3. press and hold the reset button again to power up the ps2, but this time, don't released the reset button<br />4. ar2 will loads up.<br />5. choose start games.<br />6. press eject and put in an original ps2 dvd games that has a bigger toc than your dvdr backups.<br />7. press eject again to close the tray.<br />8. wait about 10 seconds.<br />9. choose without/with codes, doesn't matter it with codes.<br />10. released the reset button, and tray will auto eject.<br />11. put in your dvdrs backups.<br />12. tray will auto close after 4 seconds.<br />13. press x!!! :]

Thats the method with neo2.2 and dvdr backups <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

been to web site thay said v5 playstation will not boot dvdr the tray will not open when u boot the ea way . a mat of mine got the same v5 and his does not work. been told to get new chip .melissaia chip . but its the cost of it . but if it works ill have to have it. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

took me psx 2 to have melssa chip put in got no other way to play my dvdrs cost is high but as \u say the money i save it will pay for it self . i hope it works.

i spoke to a chap with the new chip in he said it is rhe best chip ever made.so when i get it back ill let u all know how it does.and if anyone got the sunday mercury look at page 14 about playstation mods.?

ive had the messiah type chip for a few months, never had a problem apart from the couple of coasters i burnt.

i should get it back this week. can not wait to get me dvdr in . he told me there are 44 wires to conect. hell if u ask me. <img src="tongue.gif" border="0">

STRANGE,the messiah only connects with 23 wires{someones getting a bit mixed up somewhere}. the neo4 has 40 odd connections,but it wont work with a v5. ?

If you ordered it from playstationmods.info you could be waiting a month+ <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> just keep on bugging him.<br />I ordered one they said it would be here in a day but it was a month before it came (and a lot of phone calls) he does come up with it in the end though.

WELL got me psx 2 back with the melissa chip in it and my god its the dogs boll***s. if i put me gran in it .it would boot her too. it works very very well. next thing for me to get now is an dvdr bunner. <img src="biggrin.gif" border="0">

Just got my V5 chipped with a Messiah, Absolutely brilliant, boots DVDr games with no swapping, even plays copy DVDr movies on cheap media.<br />I would highly recommend spending the extra money.<br />vat19

i love it just like the old day are back but at a price. i do have to press the reset 2 times to load old psx backup games. do u have this prob. <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

supertom pressing reset twice to bootup psx1 backups is normal when you have the messiah fitted. nothing to worry about m8.
