Hi All

Just noticed this and thought I would pass it on..............

My Subbed and (Cloned Infinite 250 with disabled TFTP cfg) modem both went off
to day at 11am here on Merseyside North for about half an hour

When they came back on I checked the Settings on http://192.168.100.1
and noticed they have changed the DS Frequency's from 331000000

To: Subbed = 330750000 - Cloned 250 = 339000000

Also the TFTP File name:
has Changed back From Gobbledygook to the Original cm-20480-768

My Infinite 250 is still going strong after a week.... of VM attacks :Kickassro

PS:
I think the secret with a 250 infinate is to find a 20mb Mac with an original
20md TFTP cfg file that work in your UBR.

I used Ambit Config V9.7 and used Scan for MACs
Using my Subbed Mac as a start point,

When you have a list of Working Mac's run them through the new DHCP Sniffer
and Discover the Mac's which have cm-20480-768 20mb Config files

This is why I haven't bothered with Adams method,

As mine seems to work OK for Now!.....

Your subbed modem is off freq, should be 331000000 which i would reset in the modems config page and reboot to correct, the clone being on 339000000 is ok as thats just the second downstream to your area (TW land)

All TW areas have two downstream freqs 331 or 339 ;)

I have never changed the Freqs on my subbed modem before!.... Just changed now
to 331000000....re-booted modem......re-checked....Now it is on 339000000....
I suppose this is OK! as you said! TW use 331 or 339
If VM can get into our configuration on the 250... then I presume they could just change the DS freqs to anything that the modem cant use....Fcuk That.....I'am going to change the Config Password!!!!!!!!!!

I think its all to do with load balancing thats all. The same thing will happen with your upstream channels, on boot up the ubr may tell your modem to go on a different channel due to the others being more congested thats all nothing to worry about.

Ahhh

Im glad you posted this

As you know ive been working on a hardware hack on the 250 .

and one thing i noted was my frequency was also set to Subbed = 330750000 and not 331000000

I know this hasnt helped you , but your post has been most helpfull to me .

Cheers my good man

As long as both my Subbed & Cloned Modem still work......I' am Happy :classic:

I, like yourself, was just wondering why it had changed! :respect:

tw been having a play with 330750000 for little while now and in some area.s that the 1st freq ur most likely to lock on to after a reboot

No your modem has locked onto the wrong freq, reset it to the correct one.
