free wireless router from t/w

Due to IE7 release certain routers have been stopped from accessing the setup admin side of the router through the IE interface.

The ones affected are :-

D-link Wireless range - Fix on its way mid Dec 06
Netgear TW range - Fix to take place mid Jan 07
and most generic Wireless ones may have problems with regards IE7.


MS have stated a Driver fix will be available mid 07 in their Vista update schedule but XP may not get one as this OS will cease to be updatable mid 07.

Just rang NTL and asked for a free router. The guy said you have to bye them.

So I said I though you were the same company as Telepest and he said yep.

So I said how come if they are giving them away why not you then.
He said if you can tell me were the Telepest offer is in writing I will send you one.
He did go and ask his mananger but he also said the same.

Were does it say you get a free one and I'll ring him back?????:banana:

just rang up aswell in the offchance that they may still be offering it, and yep "not currently available", they couldnt confirm if the offer would be back again

but he did say that telewest are in talks with netgear to fix the problem (I guess they must have bought loads n then found out the problem)

Let us know what they said. I am moving house Saturday and getting Telepest installed on the Tuesday after. Free wireless router would be mint.
