EPG for Dreambox HD800

very true, that, very true.... just popped a zopiclone and I'm going to wait till that kicks in then it's ZZZzzZZZzzzZZ if i haven't broken some thing by then! ha!

hi im also trying to follow this guide running dream elite image.

Ive copied the file over to tmp ive installed it manually.

if i push menu and go to plug ins then go to plugin browser and select cross epg it says "please configure crossepg before start downloader" if i go back one and highlight crosse epg and then push red for manage extensions it just gos to updating software catalog and sits there till i close the window?

So basically its installed i think but i cant get into configure it.

i have usb installed and hard drive if it makes any difference#
any ideas? cheers

EDIT managed to get in to the settings but it will only let me select hard drive or internal flash memory......i cant select usb?

you have to configure it, go to menu > Setup > Cross Epg...... it's an easy mistake to go to menu > Plugins > Cross EPG......

once you have it configured then it'll download EPG etc for you....

I see your edit......

if you can't select USB have you mounted it ? it'll not show until you Mount it on the system......

I used to use the HDD and now i use the usb all though i haven't noticed any better performance etc. i presume it'll keep it cooler as the HDD will not be spinning all the time when I'm flicking through channels....but i've installed me picons to hdd and them too should have been to the usb stick.

i might do a small tut tomorrow on how to install "cross epg" on a usb stick if i get the time....but just go for it on the HDD for now and have a play at downloadingt your EPG ;o)

You dont need a specific tut for cross epg on a usb stick dibbs m8,it will install to usb no problem IF your usb stick is recognised ,if not you may have to mount it manually, and that you could do a tut on m8 :)

to mount your usb by hand u can telnet into your dreambox and enter

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

should show something like
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

notice /dev/sdb: 999 MB, 999817216 bytes thats my 1 gig usb jobby (your sdb maybe sdb1 sdb2 etc etc )

to mount it enter
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.
edit dev/sdb for your needs

crossepg should now let u store to usb :)

cheers

I presume you could then add that to etc/fstab so it would auto mount after a restart?

Dibbers, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
