Right Guys
I already have an inported DSi which had an R4i card.
Already know its the update that stopped it working, so no questions on that.

Im planning on selling it on Ebay or on here maybe.

So its gonna be easier to sell with a Card that works.
I already have Several hundred DS games on the PC and back up discs.

Anyone bought a card from here:
AceKard 2i AK2i SDHC Multimedia MicroSD/TF Cart for NDS and NDS Lite (Compact Edition) $13.62 Free Shipping

I can use the 4gig micro sdhc i already have.

Im replacing the DSi with a UK sourced Dsi XL for the youngest son for Xmas.

The Imported Dsi only links the US Dsi shop, so i cant redeem points i have.
I cant even register it againts my UK nintendo account.

Should have realised this before i bought it last xmas.

Everything else works same as UK version, plays all UK games,no probs.

Assuming from what i have read on her that i can order 2 Kards as above link and will work on the normal Dsi and the new XL.

How bigger mem card can i use?

Thinking of converting films etc , so a larger card would be useful.

thanks to Napster for his Guide, will come in useful.

hi m8,
i have bought from them many times.
very reliable, never had a problem....
only downside is 3 weeks delivery... :(
but this inconenience is reflected in the price :)

you can use any size of sd card with acecards and you can use your existing sd.
all you need to do is change the firmware.
acecard 2i with 1.4.1 patch installedworks on all current ds/dsi consoles....

have a look here. m8... :)

i wouldnt recommend the dsi xl over the dsi
the games look stretched and more pixally on the dsi xl

games look much better on the dsi mate

telll me your fookin kidding,
have just bought the lad a dsi xl for xmass :(

no mate the games are designed for the pixel settings of the dsi and ds
and when run on the dsi xl its just blown up to fit the screen

my little girl got the dsi xl and my lady got the dsi
and the dsi looks far better

Ah sh*t I just got 2 for the kids last week :(

well if yor really take it that the camera on the dsi is never going to be used alot and there aint much you can do with sd slot
then why have dsi over old ds

thats the thing,
he has a working ds (which he plays all the time)

thought i'd upgrade to a dsi xl because of the larger screen....

Exact same here m8,
lets know what you think,

a quick google is as helpful as ever although most reviews do say it will make games look slightly more pixelated, but makes up for that by being easier to see.

ok, will check it out after the lad goes to bed tonight and report back... :)

dug out the dsi today and compared dsixl to dsl....

to be honest i didn't notice any diffrence on pic quality between to two of them. except for the obvious fact that dsixl screen is much larger.

my thought.....

on the plus side:
the bigger screen does make playing the device a much better experience.
if there is any pixalating on the larger model, then i can't see it....
the extra fearures such as the camera make the device well worth the extra money.

drawbacks:
i am not too sure on the positioning of the buttons. the device is much bigger than the dsl .
the buttons have been placed nearer the top of the bottom panel and i found them a little awkward.
i think they could have been made a little larger and placed in a more central position.
might take a bit of getting used to.....

all in all a better piece of kit, very pleased with it... :)
