Covid 19 Vaccine

How many weeks are you guys averaging between 1st and 2nd jab?
that'll be me 10 weeks since first jab come sunday and still not heard a thing about 2nd jab?

Phone your Doctors HibbyDave you may have slipped through the net, I phoned on the 10 week period and was given the second Jab within 2 days ...

Think it's about 12 weeks tops for the second jab , but deffo give them a phone call

Originally I booked online both vaccines and it was 12 weeks apart. Then about a week before I was due to go I received a text (local number) asking if I wanted to book via telephone I thought, strange.
I gave it a ring and they said "Can you get here in an hour ?" so I did.
I then went online to cancel my orignal 2 appointments but both appointments had been wiped off the system. I sat back then roughly 7 to 8 weeks after my first jab I got another text to book my second one. So I followed the link and booked and to be honest both were nearer to me. The first 2 were 15 miles away !

Yep. These vaccines have a limited shelf life. Rather than ditch them they'll start contacting people to see if they can get in quickly.

I know several people who've had the "can you get her before we shut tonight" phonecall.

It was 4 weeks then changed it to 12 weeks to allow more people get their 1st jab
I've had my 2nd after 8 or 9 weeks got text message to go because of the new Indian varriant
my sister had her 1st one before me but heard nothing about her 2nd so she just made an appointment online and had hers the day after me
so go online a book it yourself

i had the astra zenica and then find out a week later that its dangerous to people of my age and they stopped using it. i had mild side effects and been fine since. i understand people having concerns though. do whats best for you and your family.

I'll not be having it still be worried about its safety and side effect which appear after long time

You won't be having it but umpteen millions have. I wonder who's right
You have concerns about it's safety whereas the highest medical officers in the World have passed it as safe. Again I wonder who's right?

Just wish that people like you could come out with something original and something slightly plausible as to why you won't be vaccinated.

In the very unlikely event that you have any side effects from the vaccination that may need you to se your GP then they will most likely treat you for them so that you quickly recover from them, however even though you think that you may have had one of the variants of the virus previously but get one of the variants that seriously affect you, or worse still that you get infected but are asymptomatic then pass it on to someone who dies from it, then they will sadly not recover from being dead.

People who will not have the vaccine because they foolishly believe that they may get a side effect in 20 or 30 years time from something that has been rigorously tested and given to millions of people around the world, are the reason that these pandemics last so long and that we get so many variants and that so many people needlessly suffer severe illness, long covid and even death, and why we have to keep going from lockdown to lockdown more often than we would have done if everyone did the sensible thing and protected themselves and others.

I was booked for my 2nd on 7th june, got a txt (friday) saying I could book earlier if wanted, did that got it yesterday (sunday) - 10 wks 3 days between jabs.
AstraZeneca never felt either up to now not a thing to report (2nd one) same as the first.
@HibbyDave I'd be phoning 119 and asking/demanding mate, irrespective of how long it's been.

The lad above who won't have it is a result of many things but the main one is those European leaders discrediting it. what are your chances of dying from covid and what are your chances of dying from blood clots, think about it.

Now there's a so called new variant, a mixture of the UK and Indian Covid found in Vietnam??? Wtf. I suppose they have to blame someone bar themselves.

Some people are scared of needles and think the earths flat. If the same people had to cross a road to get to the shop they could stand there and give you a 1000 reasons why you shouldn't and why do they go that ?, because nothing is the truth to them I have a friend who's a conspiracy theorist. He denounces everything from JFK to the moon landing. As soon as he starts off when out everyone walks off.

I'm not very good at all with needles (had a occasion with a dentist who caught my jawbone with a needle) BUT I can tell you categorically that the earth is ROUND ;)

Each to their own I guess. Sadly the misinformation spectrum around this whole pandemic is off the chart. Social media has become an echo chamber for conspiracy theorists, and misinformation mongerers. Remember that 99.9% of all anti-vaccine misinformation comes from 12 sources. Yes you've read that right, it is just 12 people out of the 8 billion that live on the planet that are circulating all this anti-vaccination information.

With the continued requirements for a vaccination to enter other countries, or places, then I think the world will squeeze those who don't conform into the social wilderness, which in no doubt will re-enforce the beliefs of those already preaching about the side effects, or dangers of medicine in general.

Choose not to vaccinate yourself, choose not to vaccinate your child. But then don't use the facilities or ammenities of those that are vaccinated. You cannot have it both ways, which is what many of these advocates want. Especially in the bible belt of the US, where they beleive they will be protected by some omnipotent transient being. Whom, doesn't exist, has shown no means of existence, yet people bow down and follow the teachings blindly.

In 1000 years or so, im sure the people of tomorrow will look back at the failings of our generations, and ones before, and think how/why did so many people follow this massive misinformation campaign, for so long and so closely.

....choose not to vaccinate your child.

That could actually be regarded as child abuse nowadays. Some countries are now allowing affected people to sue their parents for not having had them vaccinated when they were kids.

I personally don't think we know what any drug can do to us long term. Have you seen the list of side effects on most medications? I think most side effects lists are frightening if you read them. But we continue taking these medicaitons on a regular basis without a thought because they fix a problem for us here and now and so we don't concern ourselves with long term issues. I don't think the vaccines are any different. There is always an element of risk, but for some reason now people are more concerned about long term risks?

Obviously you have to weigh up the pros and cons about whether to have the vaccine or not. What I would factor into that is how likely it is that you are going to socialise with people or be in the prescence of others during work etc, or are likely to be if not now. If you are then you've got to consider what damage can be done if you have covid but maybe don't know about it.
