Please can someone help solve this?

I've installed two different hdd's and both give the same error.

This is what I've done;

1. Installed original image and setup / initialized the hdd.

2. Installed VIX 2.0 from USB and then done online to upgrade to the latest version.

3. Clicked on record and get the following error;

missing /hdd/movie/
No hdd found or hdd not initialized!

So I used telnet and created the directory

now get the error

Write error while recording! Disk full?

The disks i've used are 160GB and 1TB, both were previously NTFS formatted.

any idea where I'm going wrong?

Thanks.

i think you have to go into one of the menus and tell the receiver where the drive is first m8

did that from the VIX menu Setup hdd and then initialize.

Can anyone telnet in and tell me the file system used by the Vu?

just do;

fdisk /dev/sda <enter>

p <enter>

This will list the file systems in use. Please screen shot or copy and past.

q <enter>

should return you to the # prompt.

Thanks.

Goto Device Manager and repartition the drive, should ask you to format and then make sure its mounted correctly.

also with vix you have to create a movie folder on that hard drive concerning the recording path

so ftp into the box //media/hdd and make folder movie
