I gave up on try to find the bit file for the sb4100 and I'm just going to get a max232 to do the job.

i dont know why ur having such a hard time, u said that factory mode has been enable
after the dos command I get

SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.1166.1.19.3.1.18.0 = INTEGER: 1079138078

appear and this from tftp

Read request for file <SB4100.bit>. Mode octet [18/09 09:01:22.234]
Using local port 1207 [18/09 09:01:22.234]

Read request for file <SB4100.bit>. Mode octet [18/09 09:01:23.250]
Using local port 1208 [18/09 09:01:23.250]
<SB4100.bit>: sent 1 blk, 124 bytes in 0 s. 0 blk resent [18/09 09:01:23.765]

is this correct??

so even if cmfirm is working u should still be able to just change the mac and away u go did u do exactly as i posted # 9
copy and paste this below in with ur the mac u want to use edit in into the cmd window
snmpset -v2c -c public 192.168.100.1 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.19.4.4.0 x
0123456789ab (replace 0123456789ab with the mac u want to use)

if it goes in 2 factory mode the .bit file is fine.as gentelx says the least u shud b able 2 do is change the mac.remember this is quite hard 2 take in 4 a beginner but u need 2 percivere so the nxt time it will b a piece of cake.

trust me I did ask you guys said. I'm just getting no access when trying to change the mac with the dos command or pushing the hack menu.

the reason I'm giving up is I'm going insane here doing that bloddy command some many times without any luck.

if u look in the FactoryMode_Bitfiles_actualizado03-12--2006_ folder u will see some dos batch file right click on CambiarMAC and go to edit u should see something like this

snmpset -v2c -c public 192.168.100.1 1.3.6.1.4.1.1166.1.19.4.4.0 x NUEVAMACSINESPACIOSNI:
pause

replace NUEVAMACSINESPACIOSNI: with the mac u want to use then go to file click save then go back to where the batch files r and double click on CambiarMAC and it should run if everything is ok u should see hex = ur mac then reboot

About the chapter21. Is this the updated version (build 106)? The old one (build102) don't work very well. I tested it in a a 1.4.9.0 and didn't work.

the bit file for the 4100 is easy to find! Most of the software that use factory mode comes with it. Look for the BitFactoryEasy software, it comes with the 4200.bit, 4100.bit and the vxworks for de motorola 5100 modem.
