Hi, im in the market for a new laptop budget can be pushed a bit but im hoping to spend about £500 it started at £350 lol.
Im looking for one with dedicated graphics which can handle mw3 i know unless im lucky i wont get a gaming lappy but if i can get something what can play games ill be made up the first one i looked at was this

£350 at ebuyer but i thought id post the ebay link due to the listing.
Samsung 305V5A Laptop

the the budget went to £470
Acer_Aspire_5755G

there is this amd a6 £408
HP Pavilion DV6-6C05sa

and finally this for £500
Acer Aspire V5-571G

going off what ive read something like this is capable of running mw3 on medium settings or possibly full and battlefield at most on medium if anyone can tell me which is the best graphics model ill get for the money that may pretty much decide which ill get, also how much would i be looking at for a gaming laptop i could try to get some more money together but if possible i would like to keep it under 500 cheers any help is appreciated.

The GT 620M and GT 630M in the two Acers is better than the GT 525M in my Dell Studio, which runs COD : Black Ops with a playable frame rate (not tried MW3 is based on the IW engine powering BlOps).

I'd go with the 5755G though. It's i5-2450M and GT 630M bench higher than those in the V5-571G.

Ignore the Samsung. I can't find a single benchmark that suggests the AMD A6-3410MX is better than the i5-2450M. And GT 630M benches much better than the HD 6520G dispite it's 3GB GDDR3.

You'd still have to pay me to choose an HP laptop ;)

thanks for the info mate i havent a clue about the graphics spec i basically only look at laptops when i need one so ive not looked at changing specs for a few years if anyone as any suggestions for other laptops ive not listed that would be great too these are just what ive found browsing about i do fancy the 5755G now though, thanks again m8.

as anyone any idea what the difference is between these two acer 5755g's
link1 and link 2

the only difference i can see is the part number and price there seems to be a few variations of the same lappy

full list
Link 1 has 8GB RAM, Link 2 "just" 6GB. As 4GB is more than enough for gaming, I wouldn't worry about it.

Same CPU and GPU in both. The battery life and HDD capacity is the same too. Also, both have HDMI out, Wireless N, DVD-RW, USBv3.0.

The screen size is the same across the range - 15.6" - but the actual resolution may not be (it is for the 2 you've highlighted).

thanks again mate if im right the one with 6gb is faster ram too 1333 i think im either going to get this one Link
or at least ill compare towards it, going off the i7's im now looking at theres is one which as 2gb gpu and 2gb ram extra which i believe wont make much of a difference and not worth it at a extra £100, then theres another with a blu ray which im not interested in, and then another which costs a extra £50 but i cant see why if anything its not as good as the one linked so it looks like the one for £500 is the one im looking at again thanks for your help mate its appreciated. So if no one can post a alternative to the one im looking at ill get it ordered, cheers.

Edit: the resolution is the same across all 4 mate.

If you are still looking have a look at pcspecilists web site, you can spec your own laptop on there

Just purchased the Samsung 1 that you have linked to eBay from ebuyer for £349.99 seems a good fast laptop when I set it up

Im still trying to find the right one at the minute, I have a choice between a gen 2 i7 or a gen 3 i5 would i still be better with the i7 would you think?
these are the ones im looking at and tbh going off what i know i still think i might end up with acer 5755g if someone doesn't mind taking a look at passing on the advice i would be made up,

Acer_Aspire_5755G
or
Lenovo_Z580
or
Lenovo_G780

@gjjh25 i had a look at pc specialist mate and they only do custom build pcs and ready made lappys, cheers anyway.

Resolution on all three is the same. As such the display on the 15.6 units should appear crisper (due to a higher pixel density), but you may find the 17.3 more immersive for gaming.

Of the three I think I'd go for the Lenovo Z580. Games aren't very threaded plus the Ivy Bridge i5 will run cooler than the Sandy Bridge i7.

thanks again little_pob sorry about the late reply and i dont want to wind you up lol but ive moved the budget a bit and if you dont mind can you give me your advice on these two, im still looking at the z580 but now its the i7 gen 3 version and now the i7 gen 3 Acer Aspire V3-571G im pretty sure its one of these ill end up with now but i just need someone to confirm what im thinking, it will be used for gaming, programming (still a beginner but hopefully not for ever hence the i7) and day to day stuff. The acer one as 2gb gt 640m gpu and the z580 as 2gb gt 630m, i will be having win 8 so with the acer its already there and the z580 will need the paid for upgrade.

Z580 is £650 in the clearence sale and is grade A- with 6mth warranty (£730 new)
Aspire V3-571G £670 is brand new 12mth warranty

Acer
Lenovo_Z580

thanks again and sorry for keep moving the goal posts.
