Broken Liteon drive

No The spoofed Benq is still ejecting, exactly the same as the original Liteon.

Obviously unable to check games, as drive doesn't stay shut long enough!

Ok here is one of them. I have changed the last 4 digits of the Liteon dummy file to X's for safety.

Nonsense... replace the sata cable just and with the key on a new drive you should be fine

if the key is correct and the drive ok then he probably does need a new motherboard unless some one here can repair it at component level . when the pins bent it has probably shorted something out .

even with a blank drive key it wouldnt keep ejecting the drive

The drive was ejecting before the pins bent. So I don't think a short caused this problem.

(Also I did check the 360 before attempting the flash, and it was fine running

games, and no ejecting).

Has anyone here any experience with opened 360 returns to Microsoft?

I can get a new sticker, but the Liteon drive will obviously still have the

mangled pins behind the plastic sata connector.

- I would rather have fixed this, but have spent too much time, and am still completely stuck!

Hi mate at what point did it start ejecting like? just wondering that's all.

I'd be inclined to get that drive fixed and bollix it start again with the orginal drive, might of course be a waste of time and that but of course it might not like. imagine after getting it fixed it started ejecting, i know it'd be a pain in the ass.

Just seems well weird this old constant ejecting all the time.

Hi Dibbers

The Liteon (original) drive began ejecting as soon as I had extracted its key.

When selecting Outro Mode, JungleFlasher froze, so I had to eventually switch off the xbox.

Then when I booted it up again, the drive began ejecting.

After that I spent ages trying to get JF to get the 360 out of Vendor Mode.

That is when I tried pulling out the hard drive cable, then the sata cable, to see if it helped. It didn't all that it achieved was me accidentally pulling out the sata end, then I bent the pins.

Then I bought the Benq drive, and the same happened.

So as you can see, the pins thing happened some while after the ejecting problem.

As for fixing the Liteon, if it was just a straightforward fix I would attempt it but I guess it will need soldering?

Thing is, I still think it maybe just a flashing error - possibly due to it being one of the new batch Liteons?

Anyway, I will take another look after work later - can't wait!!

yeah could well be one of the new one's - after extracting key making it constantly eject and same with a spare drive is well weird. i guess it's all in experimental stages the new ones....as per JF does say you can't flash them new ones like.....you may be among the 1st people to experience problems with what happens if you do try and flash the new ones.....hope not like, it would be nice to see it fixed.
