Hi again all,

12.624V [2310] 5/6 DVB-S QPSK [FSS Pan-Arab Beam]

Medi1 TV Morocco [VPID 0508/APID 0556/PPID 8190]

TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 93%
Signal Quality 57%

Edit: Signal Quality has now gone up to 60%

I have been unable to lock onto this Frequency/Channel for quite a while... I originally found this
Frequency/Channel about mid September last year... however the reception of this satellite is very unpredictable/unreliable in the UK... so if you would like to lock the position of this satellite into your receiver/positioner... then now would be a very good time to try... while this frequency is so strong...

I would appreciate any feedback from forum members (in the UK) who have managed to find this satellite/frequency on the FSS Pan-Arab Beam

I have attached some pictures below... they were taken this afternoon...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

Hi Zorch.

Very patchy here in South Manchester on a 1m dish and TM 6900 HD Super. Signal strength 72 and Quality 49/50/51.

Thanks for the info, like you say, now it's in the memory..

Thanks for the feedback mate... that's not bad for a 1 metre... you must have your dish set up very accurately... my signal readings on this frequency are getting stronger and stronger... in fact I don't think I've ever seen the signal as strong...

I moved my dish onto Arabsat 5A at 30.5°E earlier this morning to check my signal readings on this particular TP

As you can see... the Signal Quality is down a bit ATM compared to the level it was peaking at on the 27th... but those readings were from mid/late afternoon and late evening...

@EMPB
With your set-up mate... I think you should be well capable of locking onto this frequency at some time today... dependent, that is, upon the weather conditions in your area being favourable...

Hi again all,

I have been trying to get a lock on the following frequency since the (DVB-S) Medi1 TV transponder left on 7th July... I never thought I would ever be able to receive it though as it's a DVB-S2 signal and this satellite is very 'fringe reception' here in the UK... but to my amazement I finally got a lock on it this afternoon...

Hi again all,

I really can't believe what happened this afternoon... I actually managed to get a signal lock and a picture on the following DVB-S2 8PSK transponder/frequency on this satellite...

12.656 V [1660] 5/6 DVB-S2 8PSK

Thanks to FlySat

I thought it would have been impossible as the Signal Quality needed for reception of DVB-S2 8PSK transponders/channels would be too high to achieve... I've always tried for a signal lock on this transponder/frequency... but I've NEVER been successful... until today...!!

Hi again all,

Well it seems it wasn't a fluke... the signal lock on this transponder/channel is rock solid today... and the lock was achieved a lot earlier than yesterday... surprising really as it very dull and overcast here today whereas yesterday was brilliant sunshine...

Both of those are quite stable here with enough margin for some rain fade which makes them good signals for Arabsat. In the last few weeks I've also had an intermittent signal from 10923H, there's also a data service running on 10766V named ArabSat 5A,both these are stable on a 1.8.

I can't see a way of editing my recent post so I'll send this as a further reply, one more regular Pan Arab beam signal is IMN or Al Iraqiya TV on 12527V 2500, slightly weaker than the others but locked OK. Medi1TV used to be a good signal but is no longer available on my 1.2.

Hi grafter1 & nelsonb,

Thanks for the pictures and info from both of you... I didn't get to post my picture last night...

Hi Zorch, I'm in Sussex. 30E is stronger in the morning here, checked signals earlier and all three were slightly up on last night even with the increased cloud cover (which is a PITA as I wanted to check another part of the garden for dish suitability being that it's the first day of solar outage here).

Hi again grafter1,

I've been checking the other 3 transponders you mentioned in previous posts...

10.923 H 17000 ~ slightly elevated Signal Quality reading (compared to normal background noise)

10.766 V 30000 ~ slightly elevated Signal Quality reading (compared to normal background noise)

12.527 V 2500 ~ much better Signal Quality reading indicating I'm quite close to getting a lock (I'll keep checking this one)

Your geographical position (on the South coast) may be a big advantage with reception of transponders on this satellite...

Thanks again for the info mate...

Best Wishes,
Zorch

12.656.V.1660 SS80% SQ20% so not enough for a lock here but im only using a TD110(still),regards mdt
