ads on my browser

hey all

im having trouble with ads appearing websites and pop ups etc AVG and spybot cant find anything wrong?

can you guys help

You might want to try backing up your favourites and reinstalling your browser.

Have you had a look in task manager to see if there any suspicious looking processes running? You might be able to find manual removal instructions if you can identify the malware.

usually when you install you reboot browser and you should see the abp icon over your start button left bottom corner.

also have and run malwarebytes-anti malware.

Also,try running msconfig from the run box and disable anything suspicious from starting at boot. I normally just have my antivirus start and nothing else.

Using chrome with adblock. If you are getting ads on a specific site you can click on the ads and it will remember the settings for that page when visit it in future. Also tells you how many ads have been blocked for the page you are on.

Did you subscribe to a filterlist? If you didn't, Adblock has to be told what to block.

If you did, can you post the URL or PM me (if it's against the rules to post the site) and I'll check on my Firefox+ABP+NoScript setup.

Also worth noting that since v2.0, Adblock Plus no longer blocks everything by default. Unless you tell it otherwise, it lets non-intrusive ads through. More on that here: https://adblockplus.org/en/acceptable-ads
