5402 HD M3 Poor Sound On SD Chaannels

hi
when watching HD channels the sound is crisp and sharp but if I then flip over to a SD channels I have to really crank up the volume
the sat box is connected to TV via HDMI which in turn goes thru a sound bar
I don't have the same issue if I am watching free-view HD and flip to a SD channel any info would be most welcome

Hd channels are ac3
On the sd channels in audio change setting to high.

thanks for the reply I've already tried this to no real affect I got this tm5402 HD m3 at Christmas to replace the 5402 that passed away which as i remember i didn't have the problem then having said that I have now replaced my TV with a smart TV so i am thinking maybe this is the problem I will try and contact Technomate see what they say b4 I take anymore action i.e. replace the sat box or something else thanks for your input
