Thank you for placing your order for the CD Box Set.
Unfortunately, there was an accidental error on the price shown during the
period from Friday evening, 14th October 2005 and 9am on Monday 17th October
2005.
The correct price for the box set is £54.99.
In the circumstances, we regret that we are unable to accept your order at
the advertised price of £5.99. We have refunded your payment to your
account.
Whilst we accept that an error was made, and whilst we regret any
inconvenience caused to you, we are unable to supply the box set at the
price of £5.99.
We do not accept that we are in any way obliged to supply at the advertised
price. The advertisement is simply what is known legally as "an invitation
to treat". For a binding contract to exist, there must be an "offer" which
is "accepted".
The "offer" in the legal sense of the word, is your order. This can be
either accepted or rejected by ourselves.
In this instance, in light of the pricing error, the order has been
rejected, and as a result no contract exists.
We apologise for the fact that, due to the huge volume of calls and
enquiries received, we have been unable to contact you personally before
today, and for any inconvenience caused to you.
