2 router question

Having a VM superhub and wanting to use a d-link dir615 upstairs via a ethernet cable to connect media player etc wired rather then wifi has of now.
question is main router is mixed at the moment of g/n but would like the upstairs router to be just N just for the newer n rated devices.
is this possible and if so would it be worth it compared to speed/coverage over mixed.
hope you can get the jist of that.

If you want the devices to talk to each other properly across both routers, make sure you disable DHCP on the Dlink.
