Heres a few pics of my temp setup.

On the right is my Sharp P55E SD LCD which I use for watching TV. MOTD through a Freeview box looks excellent. On the left is is my 78" projector screen powered by a Sharp Z12000k MkII projector. The picture is outstanding:FRIGHT: I'm going to go for a 106-120" pulldown screen in my new setup.

I mainly use 360 and the Wii on the projector for gaming and a PS3 for BluRay. The rest of my video is powered by my HTPC which I also use as a DVD player. My HiFi setup is from the late 80's (hand me downs) and early 90's (stuff I boght as a kid lol). I'll be upgrading to an AV receiver later in the year once I have the speakers to power.

Once the renovations are complete both the screens will be on the same wall.

I have a pair of Linn Keosa's which I use for stereo sound although I'll get another pair of Linns or a pair of Monitor Audios with a centre speaker for 5.1 sound once the house is complete.

Sorry about the crap picture quality, I'm only good at taking pics of naked ladies ;)

That projector looks awsome Munkey! Picture quality looks superb!

Looking forward to seeing some pictures when it's all done up. :)

Thanks Devilfish. I'm going to get the projector ISF calibrated as calibrating using DVE has made a significant difference.

I'll post some before and after pics during the next two months as the building work is going on. So excited, cant wait.

Looks nice munky m8 I cant wait to move again would love to have a screen that big,,the games must look wicked too.

There is a cheaper option from Ikea. Colours come in blue, white and one other i think. The product is called Trettioen but after checking ikea website, not sure its still available. Comes in a pack of 4 strips you plug inline and they came with sticky pads to place around back of tv.
Might still be able to get them, worth a try for £20 notes.

Could try these people too... NeonLights

I'm looking at getting a 50 incher, any advice ?

I was told that lcd would be better but I see most of you have plasma, also told to go for 1080i not 1080p or sommit better picture ??

Any recommends ?

price did it for m8, cos im tight lol, but now have a 37" LCD on the living room wall and a 32" LCD on the bedroom wall, and a 22" LCD being repaired

ill do some pics now ;)

ok, pic1 id the main TV, Harwa 37" HD LCD bolted to the wall with sooooo many fookin wires run to it lol, you can just make out the Wii sensor bar under it, and one center surround speaker above it, also showing off the pic in pic mode ;)

pic2 is what runs the main tv, inside the house anyway, on the top is an acoustic solutions 5.1 surround system and an epson R320 photo/disc printer, the aerial on the top left of the printer is from a radio remote sender picking up from upstairs, the middle shelf is home to a technomate 9100 satellite reciever, fully networked and with a 40G laptop hard drive fitted, the little unit in front if this is an infra red transmitter so it can all be worked from upstairs

on the bottom shelf is the xbox (media center) wireless pad controlled, again to work or play from upstairs, Wii and 320G HDD, on top of the xbox is a scart control unit to allow the Wii to be routed upstairs (for games that dont need to be pointed at the screen, sports or marble madness for example), behind this is also a 4 port network hub and a USB bluetooth dongle, fookin everythings connected to the telly lol

under the xbox (on the floor where its cool) is the laptop, always on always closed and a reciever for a wireless keyboard and mouse

pic3 is a phillips 32" HD LCD in the bedroom, this is connected to a samsung DVD-R128 (DivX playback ;)) and a dreambox 500s, as well as being able to control and view anything from downstairs

and thats why the tellys never get moved around in my house lmfao

At 50" I would definitely go plasma (I have both :eater:). Anything below 42" =LCD, above =plasma.

Plasmas are far more forgiving with crappy SD feeds, and at this size that matters. I've set up 1080p Sony bravia panels, and the PQ cannot touch my Fujitsu plasma. Don't listen to some of the regassing cr*p and the suchlike you hear.

1080p @ 50" and you would start to see the benefit over a 720p native res panel with HD material, but if you are mostly going to be using SD material (which all of us are at the mo) a 1080p panel has more scaling to do (more pixels to fill) so can look awful with some feeds. So don't get too hung up on buzz words.

At the end of the day however, budget is the key. How much you got to spend?

If money is no object then the Fujitsu P50XHA58EB will provide the best PQ anywhere hands down without an external scaler (i.e Lumagen)

@ More sensible prices:
Panasonic TH50PH10 (preferable)
Panasonic TH50PX70
Pioneer PDP-5080XD
Panasonic TH50PZ700 (1080p)

A good company is AV-Sales.co.uk, and you can get a good discount being an AV****** member, but the key is to go and demo whatever your decision.
