SNR levels still suddenly drop with booster
Fitted the my new booster and I have picked up about 20 new channels, very impressive. The local bbc & ITV channels that I have been trying to pick up still have the same problem. The BER levels are still very high, (which causes freezing and pixelisation) all other channels are fine. I have an attenuator on order, which will hopefully turn up today, to try.
But the main problem, again on these channels, is the SNR level suddenly drops from 92% to 64%, Loosing channel SWITCH CHANNEL CANNOT BE FOUND. This happens after a very short time. If you move up a channel normal TV is resumed, and if you flick back again, you will also pick up the channel again.
Any suggestions guys ?

i got my booster 2day and what an improvement before i had no signal at all on setanta and the movie channels now i have these channels perfect the onli thing is my internet connection is "patchy" it will stay on for a couple of mins then go off i reboot the modem and the connection comes back i have to keep constantly doing this thats the onli thing i cant seem to sort it was fine till i put the booster in
but its well worth the money if ur tv signals are bad

I have messed with the slope setting a bit, but with no joy and I have a varieable attenuator on order, will hopefully arrive tomorrow

mate, is it a hacked modem or just a subscribed modem your using ? one way or other you need to check the downstream power level, type 192.168.100.1 in yer address bar and hit enter, your downstream power should at best be as close to "0" (zero) as possible although figures like -10 to +10 etc can work too, but best to get close to "0", just use the controls on the booster to bring the level up or down, i can get mines near enough slap bang on "0".
