Set up a 4k Firestick for a mate.

A mate of mine had iptv on a mag box about 12 months ago. He suffered a couple of strokes and the poor bugger lay on his living room floor for 4 days before being discovered.
He is now recuperating in sheltered housing. He's only in his 50's!!

Anyway, back to the point. He misses his iptv but his mag wouldn't work. I had a look and it's BER. I bought a couple of 4k Firesticks during Prime Day so offered him one at cost. Thought it would just be a case of installing Downloader and the providers app and that would be it.

He hasn't got an Amazon account and I think he would struggle to open one. I entered my details and deregistered but the Firestick won't go any further than asking to be registered.
How do these con merchants who sell preloaded Firesticks bypass this? Don't want Kodi or anything bar iptv, BBC and other terrestrial apps on it.

just make another amazon account on amazon.co.uk with your pc
it wont ask for card details that way

You can use any amazon account, just get a mickey moiuse gmail account and open one, no cards needed.

it does if you do it on the stick but if you do it with the pc all you need is an email address that u can use to verify the account

Just did it. Still had to fill in an address though for any possible future billing. I just used my address as I couldn't be bothered trying a bogus one.
I had also registered a gmail account for him first, made up a date of birth. Things we do for friends eh?

It's got me looking into putting some more stuff on it for him. Being a bit cautious though as if I remember correctly a lot of things would stop working on Kodi and I don't want to tie myself in to be constantly updating it.
He likes his movies and documentaries though if anyone has a fairly reliable recommendation.

Still waiting for his iptv supplier to get back in touch with me regarding the swop over from his broken Mag to this Firestick.

Dont bother with kodi only thing worth uzing on there is the sports app Rising Tides, If you want sports just add la deportes apk onto the stick.

To speed things up I used ADB Link from here

I back up my build onto my computer then clone the others from it each time I put a new build on mine and save that as a basic build for everyone then I add my TRAKT and Real Debrid accounts to mine and back that one up as mine alone and clone that to my other Fire TV devices.

I'm using adblink to upload the apk's. I'll have a look at backing his Firestick up once I'm happy with it. I could then give a copy to my mate's daughter which would take me out of the loop if something goes wrong.
I don't mind doing stuff for mates but sometimes they think you are there at their beck and call.

Lots of years ago I set a number of my friends up on my cardsharing server. I was due to go on holiday to the Canaries when a mate said, "I'm not being funny but what happens if your router needs resetting while you're on holiday"?
I replied "Naturally I will catch the 1st flight home so you don't miss your programmes". That was when I decided to pack it in. Don't mind doing a favour but don't want to be tied.

All you need to do on FS is install stb emu with ADB link put his server address in it and edit the stb emu Mac to match the Mac from the mag box

Yes in the app StbEmu you can change the mac to the one from underneath his mag box and just enter the URL which you can find in the mag box details/set up and your good to go

Can't find it in the Mag box, it's goosed. The provider is being a twat. I have contacted him through email and his Telegram page. After explaining what I need he just replied "ok".
No further forward!! It's obvious that English isn't his 1st language but I still expect a better response. Will see what today brings.

Just remembered, this is a new provider and therefore has never been entered into the Mag box anyway.
