so doesnt look like your box was bricked,
i even tried flashing old update tool then trying latest official image to try to brick it so could try and see if flashing bootloader could recover it as it is claimed , but it still boots up just gets stuck on boot screen with network cable connected
here is bootloader i used for solo 2 se , i can flash it using hyperterminal like in the guide , only way to find it if really works if box would be bricked just stay blank

The bootloader is flashed correctly but the USB-ports stays dead
Flash with this one instead SOLO2_BOOTLOADER.dat - Speedy Share - upload your files here
Theres no choice for PAL/NTSC unless you are connecting with Scart, are you?
hi all,
I just run update tools (UPDADE TOOLS_20140906) effectively updating to V4 directly without performing the update to V3 or the FPGA update as decribed here : https://www.digitalworldz.co.uk/vu-solo2-receivers-633/391241-upgrading-vu-solo2-clone.html
It took only a couple of seconds and then i flashed vix apollo 32 (original) and it worked fine.
I suppose the V3 update is not needed on the solo 2 SE as i could update directly to V4 and everything works, I suppose I don't even need to do the FPGA update; what do you think?
Can I leave the VIX apollo 32 original (or even a newer one) or do i need to flash a safe image fom vu-hd?
Thanks
