VU+ clone just received.

emarald, - just selected the skin to default and it wanted to reboot the vu+ box and its been like 15-20 mins at the moment. with the vix spinning in the top left corner but the disapearing then reappearing. should take this long just to rebook from a skin change should it? any suggestions?

should rebot in a few minutes, did you do a full restart or just an enigma restart?

since putting the hdd in the display has gone again so when reflshing i cant see what its doing...
think im gonna have to unplug it take it apart and check the connection on the display

Is it worth all the grief, just send it back to the joker who sold it you for a full tug back on the money. You seem to have bought a pig in a poke and you are paying for this hassle, it sounds like it's unstable and prone to problems, get shot of it. You can get a brand new clone Vu+ Duo from China for around the same money you paid that joker on eBay.

looking that way.. trevors help i installed rats bouquets and updater.ipk. so all channel listing were perfect and box setup nicely. put the lid back on, even gave it another tap and got the front display working again (def seems loose connection)

thought to myself.. job done!

then when i turned it in later just says starting..... on the front display sometimes goto VU+ on front display and i see the loading screen. but then screen goes off (like no output) tried with scart and hdmi. and it just seems like its stuck turned it off on back left it 10 mins on again. just says starting.....

anyone heard of this before? did quick google and on another forum someone else had same issue they were told to update bootloader??

No need to update the bootloader as you already mentioned this is a V2.0 clone so its already been done, But it also means that until the new drivers are patched you cannot use Blackhole 1.7.6 or any build above Vix 2.4.155

You paid full tug price for a clone that dont work properly, that box is bitched, it aint ever worked right since you got it, it's working one minute then not working the next.

Push it back onto the seller who got shot of it onto you. If the seller squeals just tell them you will claim a chargeback on PayPal and keep the box, that will make them sit up and take notice of you.

Login to your PayPal account and have a read up about it.

You may not even need to do that if eBay process the transaction correctly, if you request a return of goods because they are faulty and the seller refuses just report them to eBay and raise a case, they should deal with it automatically and you get the refund.

At least that way your not demanding but at the same time your saying what needs to happen

I think in this case there is a reasonably strong chance that the seller knew the box was bitched before they punted it on eBay. If that is the case they might try to squirm out of a refund until the heat gets turned up a bit. If they are a non business seller with only low eBay use they could just refuse to refund the money and walk away, in which case eBay/PayPal will have to stand the cost of the refund.

Is the OP allowed to provide the eBay username of the seller?

Vu+Duo clones are currently ~£168 delivered to the UK from China plus a little bit of squirt on top for small customs VAT fee. Depending on the supplier, some of them declare small value for the item so there might be no squirt to pay for customs VAT.

i just had a few boxes come from china today declared as $15 each ($75 total) no vat.

my dad seems to think it maybe the psu thats faulty hence why the display is intermittent and also the issue with bootup . i took lid off last night and after about 5 secs the fan stops running and after a few tries the fan didnt come on at all (although not sure its fan has a temp sensor?)
anyway ive gone back to seller saying i want to return on the basis of faulty front display. awaiting reply.. shame i would have loved to get box up n running for my old man!

It is a known issue with the PSU's for the clone VU+'s. It's odds on that the eBay seller knew this box was bitched, what's his name, it might save others the grief you have had from buying from him?

Guaranteed this box will be back on eBay if he accepts a return.

Not sure where you got that figure from i have just been on and its $260.00 delivered which run through a converter comes in at £165.71 roughly, Never pay in pounds on the site always use dollars you get a far better rate
