Reclining seats on aircraft

very strange..
we were told we couldn't buy a seat for a child under 2.
i would have gladly paid it.
on the way back, the plane was half empty and we had 3 seats to ourselves. what a diffrence it made......

Ive always know it to be the case too that they have to go on your knee under 2.

So I am on my way to Spain which is only a 2 hour flight, then suddenly 1 hour into the flight the beeatch in front of me just slams her seat back at full pelt. She then continues bouncing up on down on it because it wont go all the way back. I then politley point out to her that the reason it wont go all the way back is because its smashing against my kneecaps !

Then without any apology she mumbled something to her mate who then turns round and gives me a dirty look before replying to her 'well he should have paid for extra leg room'

HAHA .. she expects ME to pay for extra legroom so SHE can recline her seat !!

Reclining seats should be BANNED on all aircraft :(

complain to the airline mate as there more at fault than the girl as they should of considered the other passengers behind them that need to sit and made more space for the seat to go back

You can buy ten seats just for yourself if you want. There is nothing saying that any seat you purchase has to be occupied. The only thing they won't guarantee is a that you will get a seat if you don't purchase one for a toddler. BTW don't forget that you have to still pay tax even if you don't purchase a ticket but the good news is they get a full luggage allowance.

I have found BA and Virgin to be pretty good when dealing with kids. Of course you can guess what it was like flying with ryan air. You have to buy tickets, whatever the age which I was not to fussed about considering the price. Even though they are supposed to let families on first by the time we got on the flight we could not even find 2 seats next to each. The air stewards seem so dis-interested that it seems that they were OK for a 15 month old to sit next to a stranger.

i can only think, we picked them up wrong in the travel agents. they defo said he couldn't have a seat.
i'll know the next time lol.
we got put on the plane first right enough because we where a family.
unfortunatley when we were on, the plane got delayed (something to do with bag handlers). so we had to sit and wait for an hour before the thing moved.....

Stupid travel agent, they would have made more money on the transaction.

Anyway, I hope you had a good time on the holiday.

Had this last year going to Tenerife, a couple sat in front had three seats between 2 of them, he was a right gob shite and had his seat back before we even took off, didn't give a toss about us, really pissed me off the whole flight.

Then he is staying at the same place as us, would hear his big mouth every few days after that, but going back was a classic.........................

He gets to sit in the seat behind me, his mrs in the aisle opposite, however right behind his seat was the toilets so he was unable to recline:Clap::Clap:, and it was a 4 hour night flight.

I had my seat straight back the full way for the whole journey, I heard him moaning to his mrs about it, even heard her say why don't you ask him if he will put it up........ I really wished he would have done so I could remind him what a twat he was going out

Anyway I agree any non long haul flights should have the seat recline function disabled, the airlines have already made flying the most unpleasant experience they can for you, nearly all airlines have NO class anymore, shame.

Good on ya mate.

People in front of you have no consideration for others behind. They'll ram the recliner back till the cows come home because they aren't told to do otherwise and they think its their right.

I was on a flight once after I'd just ordered a coffee. Took a sip and put it in the drinks holder because one of the kids needed something. Ignorant bitch in front rammed her seat back, the coffee went flying and scalded my young daughters leg.

Is that acceptable?

peeps should only be using the recliner if really tired...
to stop people absusing this,
they should make the function "coin operated"
i say 1 euro or pound for 20 mins reclined.
stick yer money in a slot on yer armrest and it automatically reclines....
you would probably find that the thoughtless ignorrant feckers who recline their seat from start to finish just for the sake of it would think twice.....lol

p.s. if anyone from ryanair is reading this...
IT'S ONLY A JOKE..... DON'T DO IT.... LOL

you've given them another money grabbing idea buzzer. :)

Should have patent that idea first................ coming to a ryan air flight soon, thought I read somewhere that ryan air planes the seats don't go back?

Frenchman

will you get that rod past security mate :)

you've got to pay to get them to recline. :)

I love fully retracting the seat for a good lie down, , i am 6ft 2" and i need it and i couldnt give a stuff about the people behind me as i pay the same as them and i need my space, they can complain, but best not to me as that makes things worse, i am as entightled to the space the same as they are, its the airline to fault for not adding an extra 1 inch of space, simple as that.

You must have short legs and long torso then. I'm 6'2" and it's no help to recline since my leg/body ratio means my legs are tight to the chair in front. If I wasn't such a fan of value for money I'd fly BA as they seem to have more leg room.

yes you are right, even reclined my legs are still crushed on the chair in front, but its still a little better reclining the seat on a 12 hour flight then sitting stright up, as i said before, its the airlines fault, if they done away with a row of seats it would probably mean that every person on the flight could get that extra bit of legroom they need, even 6ft 2" people, lol.

Problem Solved....lmao:banana:
