What is the difference between the new and old tuner drivers?

My mates zeus box went down last week. I thought it was just the keys but the tuner went. A change of image fixed it. I was running an older version of this image (I think). It had some vodka bottle on it.

I prefer neutrino images since I mainly use a dbox. I tried this again and found the tuner, I had to change it to new tuner for the zeus box to work again, it is fine and stable now.

I put on the 2 new .bin files and had no luck. Then copped on AU was set to 00, set to 01 via tuxcom and it updated no problems (dublin N*L)

Forgot to mention I could not flash this image with dreamup. I tried twice going from 1.6.2, in the end I put on DW2.0 and ftp'd the file on and flashed via the TV

when using dream up with this image you must say no to flash erase, as this erases the jffs2 /var partition straight after flashing it doh!

Is anyone finding that the box stops responding to the control when you change channels?

Yeah I experience this too. Go to a channel and nothing appears and no sound. Just have yo switch to another channel then flick back and all is ok again.

Cryogenic mate any idea why this would be happening?

Not really an issue more of an minor annoyance. Still think this image is the Dogs B@ll@x!

This image is fantastic.!
used dreamup to install it. ftp`d the 3 new roms. went into menu. Switched auto update to ON.
changed to new tuner driver...BINGO..! And I must say.. the picture is bright and crisp. The sound quality is ace too. Cheers, Mate.!

My Bad

Been playing around with the image (while reading about the red light issue on the new Wasabi wii modchips). It seems fine with Rom7 only and using EvoCamd 2.10. Keys are been generated fine with this combination.

Whoa ... reverse a bit. I followed your lead and enabled rom 10 and indeed the keys are being updated for both rom 7 and 10. So what has gone wrong with your setup ?

This sounds like the rom10 problem. Did you copy on the new rom10 ?

whats the ip address when first flashed im at my work the now and a guy at my work has brought in his dreambox and asked if i knew how to get his box working.i have just fladshed this image on for him but need to ftp the new roms and service files but got no tv infront of me to see ip address thanks

Whoa ... reverse a bit. I followed your lead and enabled rom 10 and indeed the keys are being updated for both rom 7 and 10. So what has gone wrong with your setup ?

This whole which rom to use is confusing for me.

I originally tried enabling rom 7,10,11 and copying over the new rom 7 and 10 files into \\var\keys. This worked and if I cleared the keys and went to an encrypted channel keys were being generated. 3 lines - 2 for rom 7 and 1 for rom 10

Yesterday I had another play because everyone seemed to be replacing rom 7 only. I enabled only rom 7 and ensured evocamd 2.10 was selected. I cleared the keys and went onto an encrypted channel and bingo keys generated. Did this several times without any problems.

ftp to /tmp

telnet to the box (root/dreambox) and issue this command


cd /tmp && /bin/eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp neut.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

Alternatively use dreamup and flash erase, then flash, pick file, click ok then when it asks ja or nein to erase flash again say nein.
