Dboxes only showing FTA in Glasgow

ratchet i seem to have done exactly as u but mine dont work any ideas

I can't seem to edit, remove or change my keylist in flashfxp. It just fails to do anything with it and seems locked.

What the hell is going on.

I am so fed up now i am looking for a eurovox as they don't have problems. In the meantime it looks like i will have to get the old Telepest box dusted off:(

??? it's the card emulator, the main ones are ..

GBOX
EVOCAMD
NEWCAMD
MGCAMD

Most of the newer images use GBOX you can change this in your service menu (usually the blue button on your remote) change the EMU this will show the above list just select EVOCAMD.

Ratchet,

I'm using the sportster image with a Nokia DBOX. Should I be shifting images now or something? Or can I still use all the txt files posted?

Cheers

Very strange!

My box lost encrypted channels yesterday, so I changed the keyfile.txt file, switched to Evocamd + 0014 and everything worked. This morning, 1 of the keys had gone (01) and only FTA available again. I repeated the procedure from last night but still only have FTA. What's going on?

I'm running bob808s V++ image with Evocamd and 0014.

PS If you change both keys in keyfile.txt to 00 with 555, will this stop the auto-update?

they have done 3 key rolls in 24 hours on ex TW areas

i have the key for EX TW already posted

you cant do anything other than manually change the keys after each key roll

thanxs blockhead but still no joy the keys u pm'd were already updated on box and still not workin

Hi mate, was every single digit the same? On one of the ones I done there was a 5 instead of a 4 and on the other one for some reason there was a c instead of a 6. The third one was all over the place, I had to modify both keys on that one.

how do you work out what the new keys are

also will their be a permanent fix to this issue instead of updating manually, I have had a DBox for 18 months and never had this problem. Are VM doing this to stop the use of these box's.

are you using the latest andromeda image ? (this really shouldn't matter but I'm going on what worked for me)

Another thing is that when this problem first started last night i reinstalled a fresh image just to be sure.

I found that sometimes you will get a completely blank keylist.txt file this is because you are on an encrypted channel, change to a FTA channel and you'll get a key (but seeing as you are changing it it doesn't matter just added that as people are asking about why it's happening)

When you say manually change the keys. How do you know what to change the keys to in order for them to work?

The keys posted on ExtraCP are the ones that worked last night but they don't seem to work now (for me anyway). Some guys seem to have working keys, though. Could someone PM me keys that work for them so I can try.

Thanks in advance.

hi i did nothing to my box and now its come back on with
all channels working im in ntl area.

Even with working keys, Ive been told the box's are only lasting 10mins then going off again! I think Virgin are using the same method as sky!

I notice you guys are all going through the same situtation but for some reason my keylist file is empty how do i recover this or can some send me theres? thanks alot...
P.S my dm500 in my other room is working fine can i get the key from that for my dbox ?

I have built up a rather large bookmark list of dbox2 forums, this is where im getting my keys from although i have tried several different keys before finding a working one.

Sadly there doesn't seem to be a more perminant fix in the pipeline at the moment.

The way i understand what is happening is this....

the way the boxes work is on emulating the subbed card that usually slot in the front of a normal subbed box.
These emulators are the many cams (i mentioned the top 4 above)
the cards have almost the same encryption code on them and the key is renewed when you pay your subscription, as the box's are usually connected to the phone line too the keys will be generated correctly providing your subscription is paid.
However the cams we use in the box's are perminantly validated (until recently that is) seems the encryption code has been tweeked slightly by the CC so the decryption algorythm is slightly wrong (seems to be one byte)
Although im no programmer im thinking what MAY lead to a possible solution is if people somehow post their UNTOUCHED box generated keys and then the keys that work for them and repeat this every time the keys roll (seems to be at least once a day so far) this way we can TRY and figure out what bytes are being changed and then try and create something to correct this on the fly)

As i said this is the way i see it, im NOT a programmer so i may be barking up the wrong tree but it seems logical.

Mines been running fine for an hour and a half now. Unbelievable thing is, I get the box running, then the wife watches free to air channels. Good thing to come out of this is the box is getting turned over and everytime I go back to check premium they are still running.
