Cross EPG AGAIN!!!!

whats a guy to do? cross epg on a box set up for vermin works a treat first time, everytime. however every time i set it up for slu uk, nothing. what am i missing guys? is there a magic wand or a trick when setting up for sky uk on an H2 box? im using the backup atv and the hd blue skin.

are you using a dual tuner box cable and sat box?

I find if the box is not left on a sly channel the epg doesn't work properly.

no idea why, but if i stick on sly channel for a few minutes the epg populates the sly side...

yes its a dual tuner, only using the sly side of it tho.

I had read somewhere you have to leave the box on the sly tuner for the epg to work right.

i was putting the random epg failure down to me leaving it on the cable tuner...

there goes that theory.. lol

when i go in to cross epg, i set it up as normal, select the storage etc, select the sly uk and download. now it reads all the channels and doesnt read all the rest after that. it freezzes then times out.

Are you using Cross EPG o download teh EPG datat from the satellite stream only, from the internet only or both?

good question matey, i think its the internet it gets it from. but ill check. is there a menu to change that?

The providers you select determine what you download from. If you just have OpenTV EPG selected, that is satellite only. You must be able to receive the 11778, Vertical , 27500 transponder. The others are internet based.

Lavaman has removed the internet based stuff away from his version. Less complications that way. The internet based version are already present in the xmltv importer anyway.

i just normally use the open version. anytime ive used xmltv it on imports half of the epg. unless im mising something there too.

no issues with it here only use opentv providers works 100% on dreamboxes & icloud

I have no issues when I use xmltv version for vermin. Open for sly just doesn't download, it reads the channels then it goes to the next bit and doesn't move any further.

Maybe you have a corrupt epg database.

Issue the following command, wait about 15 seconds and then delete epg.dat

I also had problems with crossepg on my zgemma h1. I gave up in the end and used the ealier version. crossepg 6.2 works fine. By the way I'm using the openatv 5.1 image.

just to let everyone know, i deleted the version of crossepg and re installed an older version from here. works a charm!!

Does your xmltv download virmin EPG, at the time you set? Mine would never work, I had to do it manually everyday.
