XBMC low memory

The new versions of XBMC seem very memory hungry.
Does anyone else have this problem too?

I often have issues where it just hangs due to running out of memory. Also some video files don't appear to be able to play. Any ideas?

I have an executer 3 chip installed, am not sure if it has the lates bios though.

have u tried an older version of xbmc to see if it cures the problem
