Hi Guyz

Just want to ask peoples views before I go ahead & do anything. I watched a video on youtybe where you go into MSCONFIG
Then Boot tab at top
click advanced options
click number of processor and pick the the highest
Default is showing 1, mines goes upto 12
Also click max memory, I got 16gb so 16000, default showing as 0
Save
I can add screen shots if that helps?

Will this help with over all pc performance or is it just a for boot up? If just boot up then I don't need to change it what do you think?
Or will this mess up the PC and cause the cpu to overheat?

thanks
Ice

If you leave those options alone IE no tick in the boxes then it will default to your hardware config. IE if you have a 12 core CPU than it will use 12 cores and if you have 16 gig of memory it will use 16gig.

Those advanced options are if you wanted to limit your hardware for some reason, say only use 6 cores or 4 gig of ram.

There are a lot of videos on youtube that should be taken with a huge grain of salt.

Stopping it uploading the user experience or whatever the snooping is called would be a start :).
