I wonder how many people ar'nt alive to tell the tale

had many track days at well over 180 (f1sidecar) ,but also had some times in my mates cosworth 165 ,now thats scary

134 mph is the quickest when i got my hyundai coupe f2 evo (had to see what it did)

The fastest i've ever went in a car was 176mph in a souped up escort cosworth with 423bhp it was scary but i woudn't say i was shittin myself but tbh it's not big and it aint clever so don't speed and don't put lives @ risk.

its not the 120+ mob, its the 70 on a 30 road mob, that cop it.

I'm "green" on the side-car ride!!!!!!!! very brave and skilled people chair men are.

my top speed is similar to yours, and in the same car! bit of a chase with a 911, on the M1. (i was not driving, cars had too many wheels for me, back, then)
i, think, i topped out at 150mph, or so, in my bike days (Kawasaki Z1B with Rickman Mattis chassis). but it was the "getting there" that was all the fun,
(0-60 in 1.9 seconds). top speed only effected the point you needed to break for the next corner.
to me, top speed if for telling people in the pub. little more.

Anyone can drive a modern day performance car at well over a ton, even my mum could do that.
Buy yourself an old duffer with a turbo charger the size of Devon and enough torque to rip up an airfield, bang some performance shocks and big feck off wheels on it and find a good forestry road.

That usually sets the drivers apart from the clowns and is a helluva lot more fun..

I've floored my car (RR 4.4 V8) and it did 145 on a flat before the speed limiter kicked in. I've driven my mates 911T at appx 175-178 which felt like 250 compared to 145 in the Rangie.

Nowadays I rarely ever take it above 110 unless some boy racer wants to mess and I'm all alone in the car.

130 in a Sri Cavalier, that was the last time I drove at speed like that,I put a con rod through the radiator. it was a costly lesson

170 in a Ferrari 360
165 in a Lambourghini Gallardo

both done on tracks

Re Germany, I used to live there and it's no easier to drive fast there than it is here. For a start there are less than a handful of stretches that are not subject to speed limits now, they are largely 2 and 3 lanes so the inside lane is still full of lorries Whig means the middle lane is full of the usual suspct which means dong more than 100 in the outside lane is as hard as it is here, most people choose to drive at a reasonable speed and in the south, most cars have snow tyres which are only rated to 160kph so you can't go fast.

Done just over 130 against a TVR on the M4 in a ford Scorpio in my younger days, he shit it before me but it didn't seem that fast. Once done about 80 in a Fiat Uno and was absolutely bricking it.. felt like 200 mph.

Which engine sounded better floored at the top end?

As a driver I've done 2 tests of my Jag S-Type when I got it I did 147 in the early hours of the morning down the M56, and did another test when I got it converted to LPG and didn 150 down the same stretch of the m56 @ 2AM.

As a passenger I've been just over 200MPH down the autobahn in my boss's Bentley. It's boring though as you feel like your in a big comfy armchair, with no feedback from the road.

touched 90 (well, the speedo said that..) on a steep, long dual carriage way in an old Mini. sheer terror going that fast in a go kart that close to the ground.

did 5mph and still wrote off the car when i crashed!!

Cheers

Fastest ive been was 124MPH in the saxo according to the spedo, probably about the 110-115 mark though.

On a long straight road away up north all alone.

Had a 1997 P reg POLO upto about 95 MPH, that was scary!

Speed kills, ffs be careful out there or you will end up like this. This is real life. This video is disturbing, its not squeamish but just disturbing. You have been warned.

Man videos his friends death

Yes I have broken the speed limit before but nothing major (imho). I have drove around 80/90 on an empty motorway. I know....I am a twat, but at least I will admit it.

Speed dosnt kill if its done safly and correclty and being observent and not driving like an arse.

My 130+ Was done on an airfeild track day, was good fun.
