Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge HAS BLOWN MY USB PORTS (HELP)

HELP please guys.

bought one of the Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge for the dreambox and i hooked it up to my laptop via ethernet then the usb port for the power and my laptop turned off and i smelt a little burning.

now two of my usb ports do not work.

the remaining usb port will only work now and then for only certain items.

what can i do? im pissed here.

should i just buy a new laptop? cheers

Can you tell if the burning was coming from the vonets or the laptop. Try getting the latest drivers for your chiipset and also latest bios and see if it will help.

came from usb port on laptop
laters drivers and chipset doing nothing mate

Not looking good mate, the last port is only working on some things, as a last resort could you use a usb hub on that port.

claim of the company u got wifi from

the device is faulty and pulling too much current / power

get them to fix lappy or get u new 1

quite worrying hearing this got a couple on spiderboxes running 7-8 months

if this dont work im going to bin the lappy n buy new one
