Mobile Phones using home wifi with phone

never used it myself but have seen unlimited access to wifi?? i was confused maybe this is it using mms to connect through the router unlikley? whats going on?

they said i probably lost my wifi connection so it went onto the 3g and as i only had a 1mb allowance on my old contract i was charged for downloading above this but if i had stayed connected to wifi there would have been no charge
