USB Wifi dongle for 5402HD

I want to set up a 5402HD in bedroom and don't really want to use homeplugs if I can avoid it.
Can someone please confirm that a usb Wifi dongle attached to usb slot on back of receiver would connect ok to router downstairs.
I have had a read on forums here and someone made a comment a while back that it takes a long time for receiver to connect from stand by, is that still the case?

Vonets VAP11g will do what you want but it's not a dongle as such.
