OMG....has anyone ever had one of these....shit it's painful....I was sitting on stool at pc last night, in a slouch postion, i just coughed and OMG..i nearly went through the roof ..i was kinda like, locked in a postion and couldn't move, no matter wot way i move or turn, cough, sneeze, blow me nose, i'm in bloody agony...it comes from the back area more towards the side and the pain comes round to the side sliding downwards towards the hip line on the side...i can only imagine it to be a trapped nerve. jesus..u hear about these things but my god u just don't how much pain ur in touch to reach to get something.

sounds like u could have slipped a disk in ur back
sleep on a hard mattress
take pain killers
and rest
dont lift anything heavy so leave ur fellas wallet alone
lol
obtw go see a doctor

Ouch - i had exactly your symptoms. I had "nipped" my sciatic nerve where it travels through from lower back into my leg. The ONLY way to get this treated is by physiotherapy And massage. Pain killers ect hardly touched the pain. Anyway at the end of the day they don't "treat" the condition they mask it.
Get yourself off to GP, if diagnosed with sciatica please go to see a massage therapist. Up here in Scotland it cost me £25 for half hour. 3 sessions and my sciatica that the doc said would be with me forever has gone. Best money I ever spent.
BTW the pain brought tears to my eyes on many a night - through pain and/or frustration.

i didn't know u new my fella........ lol not much chance of that, he has that locked zipped away..lol

i got the pain killers...B&C....lol as for the slipped disc, i've never had one so couldn't say it isn't or it is...how ever, this morning i got up, still painful but only when i twist and turn...however, been to work today, drive van allday, which has not been comftable, however, stop and start, in and out, bending over, stretching all day (job) seem to of helped it stretch a bit, but tonight when fella left, i waved at the window, arrrhhhh.... pulled the blind, turned around to get of sofa (kneeling on knees) and blow me, bang, it locked in again, the parrot keeps dropping things on floor (i swear she knows) ..lol and have to keep standing straight then just lower me self in an upright postion to be able to reach it on the floor. i thought i pulled a muscle at first, but now thinking about it as it locks in a dead postion, i began to think it must be a trapped nerve.....anyway, by being able to move around like i did today, until earlier, does that sound like a slipped disc...only i hate going to the doctors for something like this as i feel stupid if they say, yeah u've pulled a muscle..lol

trapped a nerve in my shoulder a couple of years back and the pain was unbeleivable, couldn't look straight or stand straight, it was the only time I have ever taken time off work, couldn't sleep, stay awake lye down or stand up, terrible, took around nine months before I had full use and full strength of my left arm and the painkillers didn't touch it, hope your not as bad as I was.

well, this morning was so bad, i eventually had to roll out of the bed to be able to get out of it... had to get to the docs.....they game me some co-codamol....
phew....works a treat...well still painfull if i move the wrong way....but at least i'm able to move around with a lot less pain

my misses has a herniated disk in her back and hasn't been able to even go to the toilet for over two weeks with the pain in her leg ( it's about 20ft from the bed).

i literally have to cary her there while she is crying in pain.

the doc reffered her to a specialist and the appointment is in fecking march.

and now i'm starting to crack up, and i'v read on the web that people can go through this for 3yrs+

this specialist better be able to help or their going to have to refer me to a quack.

Im suffering as i type! Ive had two herniated discs and pain down my leg as far down as my big toe.
Sitting is the worst thing you can do.Constant pressure on the discs.
Normally only get the pain down one leg.Take plenty of pain killers and ibuprofen to reduce any swelling.
More than a pain in the arse!
Bit of advice Tramodol will be probally prescribed. They are very strong but made me feel sick all the time.
Try something with Paracetamol like co-codamal which aint as strong but are easier on the belly.

The one i went to was a chiropractor. As well as a trigger point therapy massuse. Like i said £25 times 3 best i have ever spent. No more painkillers ect. My pain went from my lower back right down to my toes. My feet would tingle (pins and needles) my legs would generally ache and be cold - and my lower back was mega painful. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. But i can say with total confidence that the chiropractic masseuse was immense. Hurt like hell getting it done and not the greatest for a day or two after, but you could feel the pain "shifting". Id recommend it as a treatment for anyone with back, leg pain.

i could not agree more.......do it, you wont look back, pain killers will only help for the short term, like hours, once you hit these guys they will re-align your body and nerves, a bit like if your tracking has ever been out on your car and you get the garage to put them back in alignment....imagine that with your nerves.......works a treat.!

need to look into this myself as have had trapped nerves and sciatica, back still not right now, eased abit with anti inflammatories and painkillers of the doc and beer of course

A couple of years ago I slipped a disc & I trapped a nerve in my back & as you say worst pain ever - Went through painkillers like sweets & tried physio & chiro disc seemed to heal fine but still had nerve pain - none of the treatments worked on the nerve. After 4 months I tried an inversion table and after a few weeks it worked a treat.

I think it stretched my spine & allowed the nerve to settle back in place

I use it about once every few months now. You can pick em up on ebay quite cheaply now. Probably don't work for everyone but if you're in the same pain as I was.................

chriopractice, book an appointment.....
fook that i went to one and i nearly pushed him through the wall
i didnt just slip a disk i actually prolapsed the disc (squashed it) and all the fluid came out and i have never felt any pain like it
most of the time with disk problems it is rest
lol saying that how do u rest
i never slept in a bed for 6 weeks
i slept for about 3hrs per day leaning over the computer desk
i got relief by taking df118's and sleeping tablets at the same time
it doesnt get rid of the pain u just dont give a fook

tina try this lay down on ur back and ask ur fella to lift each leg in turn
keep ur legs straight and let us know what u feel

whats the best treatement for about 3 slipped discs and also sciatic nerve?
disc slipped in 1996 and end up in hospital every few months when it gets worse.
all i ever get are painkillers and am told to rest

siatic nerve is the result of a slipped disk u feel it as a pain in the but and going down 1 or even 2 legs
it can even make ur foot feel dead
treatment again is restor as my wife would say phisio to strenghten the mussles in the back to keep ur back in a better posture so the disks wont slip
i am same as u m8
i just get on with it
lol

I refer you to my above post - chiropractic masseuse. Not just a chiropractor but a masseuse as well. As stated the best 3x£25 i have EVER spent. I would have paid 0000's to sort it due to the pain i was in.

@DavidH - I went to 2 chiropractors mate. The 1st one hurt like hell and didn't really help "much". It was the 2nd bloke i went to who did the massage as well He hit the nail on the head so to speak. I can honestly say i am now pain free after months of pure hell. Freezing legs pins and needles in the feet and like an electric shock type pain in my lower back and buttocks. It may be a little bit of "pot luck" but im confident that if you find the right one then these guys can "sort it". Just remember nerves and muscles do not repair themselves - especially if the muscle is in constant state of spasm (which mine was, hence it was trapping my sciatic nerve) My back was out of line as well - This was the original cause but what i found was ALL effected muscles and nerves needed "work" done. The best i can explain the technique used is here

This is the spot where the 2nd guy who treated me spent like 20 mins per session on. It would feel bruised ect after but the pure relief after 3 sessions just cant be overstated (In my case anyway).

i had surgery 4 yrs ago they cut my throat to do micro surgery as my spinal cord was crushed and i would have ended up in wheelchair but now a have permanent pins and needles in my left hand and cannot walk very good now but at least i am not wheelchair bound so thats a bonus

I had surgery in April on a herniated disk (slipped disk) which was causing sciatic pain down my left leg.
They had me up and walking the next day and although recovery has been slow, there had been a remarkable difference and im now nearly back to 100% without the pain of course.
