tomtom registeration

hi guys

i am knew to gps stough so bare with me. i am thinking of buying tomtom 5nav for x50v. obiously, the first place to look is ebay. i know i need three things:

tomtom blutooth reciever
sd card
tomtom 5 software

what i need to know is does the software require registeration, if so how would that be possible if i buy from ebay since i presume it would be a copy that i buy and the code has already be used.

has the software been craked so other code can be obtained to register?

most of the tomtom 5 software on ebay has been cracked so there will be no need to register
