I need to quote myself again and repeat myself as you misread my post, perhaps the images were too big and you didn't seen what I wrote and supposed this was for the chip, I am NOT talking about the CHIP... but the SOCKET (and I even posted the photo of the sockets !). roud:

Yes, your answer shows you have no experience on such job, my answer instead is coming from experienced people that would definitely not try what you propose, as it's for sure going to fail.

So up to the reader, to choose to fail, or to be successfull on mounting the socket using the IRDA station.

According to my information the Bricked Solo 2 Solutions is near to out now . As I had told u all after changing the chip the will shortly release SOLO 2 another UPDATE to fix it. the chips are coming is already fixed .

Yes @Ali this said the Chinese guy to me a couple a weeks a go,he told me that they have the sollution but couldnt tell it at this moment,i prommised him to shutt my mouth but he didnt want to say more...

But i would advice everyone,even if the new update will come,stuck on the safe images and drivers,and wait a couple of months..

The good news on the other hand is that they finaly read my advice and are working on a sort of "bootloader" that would work on the Clones (genuines i dont know)

This info gave the same Chinese guy,i believe him because he was right about a lot of things..

But a time he couldnt give me not precise...

Edit:the interesting part will be what the tool is going to be between solo2 and pc,because VU utill and DreamUp dont work on it at this moment...

they have sent me the vu solo one and its working, flashed via com, but cant vu just release new drivers to do same as before ? best to stick with patched older drivers, unless there is a easy recovery method

That tsop socket can be soldered with a iron and a fine tip

Been there done that

But infra red is way more easy

Place socket on pads
Put solder paste and heat

Job done

I have a proper dark infra red rework station

All depends on who is doing work and experience

@simba ure right mate and also to be p..ssed off..But there is coming a RS232 support verry soon i can guarantee that...but how usefull and what excactlybits going to solve i dont know..

But in a shortbtime there will be a RS232 update available

Ok guys a verry brave German guy find out how and when the bomb started:

He installed 6.0.3 on his freshly reparaired solo2 clonebox and let it on for 24 hours....no problems at all;
Then he FRESHLY downloaded and installed 6.0.4.....still works perfect!!;
Again downloaded and installed a genuine image in this case 6.0.5 .... After 24 hours,still working;
Finaly downloaded and installed 6.0.6 but here it comes,after the sync with time and date via Satelite the screen went green and shortly it died,box bricked

this guy orderd a couple of chips and wanted to find out whitch firmware causes the bricks...And concluded the bomb gets alive in 6.0.6,after install,when he sees the data 19/04 is reached or passed he commits hari kirri...suicide...and like said before this he does after satelite sync of time and date

Again:the guy ONLY used genuine firmware and DID NOT made an online update!


Ok lets be carefull but this looks like that BEFORE 6.0.6 the images are safe,but like i said i personaly advise people to stick on old images a little bit longer,but hooray for this German guy,for sticking his behind out and risk a box bricked forgood...

Am I correct in saying the the RS232 support (if it comes) will not unbrick the boxes that are already bricked. I mean that bricked boxes will still need the chip replaced?

Yes,unfortunatly,the RS232 support,or any upgrade will be used to PREVENT bricking boxes like did now...not bringing dead boxes alive

If the box bricks anyway,then here theorie goes to the toilet,if not then thats a nightmare for Lonrisun and people buying not Lonrisun boxes..

I am willing to invest in it and buy an non lonrisun and do the test!

@Dj I would like to clear one thing . when i read here about the easter egg i was out of city and it was saturday night . at sundday when i came back i saw my box had 2 images .1 BH 2.0.9.1 and 2nd in meoboot was VTI 6.0.6.
and my receiver was working fine . but just for the safety i downgraded to BH 2.0.6 . but after some days when she told me not worry then i started testing again . and finaly i m using VTI 6.0.8 and BH 2.0.9.1.

What will happen when I install in flash an old image like black hole 2.0.7 and on meoboot (pendrive) oryginal image VTI 6.0.8 ? Box will be working ok or will going down ?
