Streaming HD content question

Chaps.

I use a Dreambox 800HD for my satellite TV.

Upstairs I stream it through my laptop when im working in the office so that I can watch the odd programe etc.

However, when I stream HD channels the software I use crashes or goes extremely slow.

Does this mean my laptop cannot take the HD signal or something?

If anyone knows how to get the HD stream running perfect please let me know.
