Static IP

I am on Tiscali broadband at home on a Netgear DG834 router. I need a static IP as I am having a monitored CCTV system.
I have called Tiscali who said I would have to upgrade to a business account. I went through the procedure agreeing to a new account and increased costs etc but, the stumbling block was when they said I would lose my Tiscali email address!! I can't afford to do this so I need an alternative. Any suggestions please?? Thanks.

as long as you have a place to put in your dyndns account into your router, then you sign up for free to get a dyndns account and then put your details into the router.

everytime the router's global IP address changes, it lets dyndns know. you dyndns will let you map to a web address of your choice such as dbox2.dyndns.org
