Silver card newbie

Hi folks as a newbie to siver cards i was hoping someone would give me a little help.
1 what? could i do with a silver card
2 how to program a card.(i have done goldies etc)
3 do i need any more software. (mk 8) etc

two ways to program a silver card for multi sat systems
needs
elvis,hex,1,dosprog 2,multiprog

1,with dosprog u need to have ur computer in dos to use the program
get the program up and running put silver card
in to elvis press 0 it will auto find the silver card it will
then ask for the pic.hex tell it where to go ie: c:/hexs
then it will ask for the eeprom.hex again point it to the same place where your hex is
then it will start programming your card at the end it will make a wolf whistle to say it has finished result one programmed silver card
2, use multiprog fire up the program in windows go to set up tell the program where your programmer is com1/com2 etc
go to piccards tab click on this go to card tab click on silvercard
go down to load below pic click on this and load the pic.hex

Daidh, I was scouring through the other sections in the forum as a redundant I*V D*g*t*l user (and silver card and Elvis owner) and came across this post. Can you tell me exactly what multi sat systems are to see if it worthwhile me pursuing this? Sorry for being such a numpty but after being on the goldies for so long evrything else looks bloody confusing. unce:
