have a problem with outlook express -- keep freezing when opened -- have located the dbx files for outlook and if i take out the inbox files then outlook works fine, problem is i need some of the mails from there, any know a program where i can access the mails in there?
thanks in advance for your help

hi
right story so far
techquest,
had this problem before when the file was to big and outlook couldn't handle the size of the inbox, and found http://www.dbxtriever.com/index.htm?...FQseQgodK0IeDw it now comes up that the liecence key is out of date, it must recognise my comp somehow
http://www.dbxtriever.com/index.htm?...FQseQgodK0IeDw just hangs left it running for 9 hours still showed nothing but was using 95/98% of the processor --- so no go there
chrispy---- the file size is 50.4mb nothing like the last time when this happened
psy will try and get back to yu

cheers guys :proud:

Not sure if this will do the trick but if you are ok with editing the registry then go to registry and remove all instances of dbxtriever.

start/run/regedit/find - dbxtriever and then when it finds an instance delete it and F3 will find the next until no more instances are reported found.

This ought to remove it and enable you to download it and try it again.

OE has a limit of 2GB so that can't be a problem.
I had to recover a dbx file which was just over 2GB (I do this sort of stuff for work) but OE wouldn't even look at it.
I managed to recover & extract all the emails...I tried loads of progs but in the end used Nucleus Kernal Outlook Express. I think everything you need is on a disc at home, PM me your address and I'll post the disc to you if you still need help.

right thanks to chrispy got it sorted now
thanks a lot for your help:Clap::Clap::Cheers:
