Hello everybody,
could somebody please tell me the correct procedure for setting up port forwarding
I have single laptop at home Using netgear router wgr614 V6, motorola sb5100 modem, and 10meg conn on Virgin Media/telewest.
I use Utorrent for downloading, and have selected a single port on utorrent (setup to use same port everytime, , and forwarded this to the router (or so in think)
My netgear routers login 192.168.1.1, takes me into the settings
on port forwarding, i have set server ip address as 192.168.1.3
entered the specific port, and saved settings.
But my download speed seems still to be crap, around 50kb, and i get the little red icon on utorrent telling me that my router/firewall is inhibiting my d/l speed.
Am i doing this correct?
About a week ago, i set this up and it seemed to be working fine, d/l about 400kb rate, and when checking the port using portford.com, it said the port was open.
The only thing i have done since then was to turn off router/and then back on.
But i can still see the setting in there, for the ones i had set up!!
cheers
tom
