so why post this mate, iv never owned a technomate nor will i ever, but if people want to rant about a shitty box to let everyone else know then that should be fine, if the dreamboxes were shite we'd all be ranting about them too... if they post it direct to technomate how is that gunna help anyone in a similar situation.
If that was all it was, then itd be nice and simple, just like in the dreambox, vu, and every other section. if it was ONLY people saying 'i had one of these, theyre crap and id never get one again' then itd still be simple. but its not. theres people who have never seen a real receiver, bringing up the same old things time and time again, which turns to a slanging match which nobody will win
this leaves DW in an awkward position, for numerous reasons.
people always say 'you never see anything like this on other sites' and thats right, you dont, for the simple reason, other sites have sponsors, who sell equipment, and they dont want to point out the downside of any equipment they sell. sites sold clone dreamboxes for over 2 years KNOWING they had foulty tuners, people still bought them, the only place you can read page after page of the crap people went through with them, is DW
other forums will ban a member who continually attacks a product that the forum sponsor sells, even if that attack is telling the truth about that product
other forums will remove any posts that say negative things about the products that their sponsors sell
DW has NO sponsors, DW has no manufacturer of any equipment of any kind to keep happy, DW can tell the truth from the users point of view
every now and then, this all blows up when people disagree over the way things are handled on DW, or people try to push the open-ness of DW to see how far they can go, or for their own gains
no one member, product or company is 'better' than DW, and this is what makes the place unique
go back through the forums over the years (ive been here for over a decade) and youll see it cycles. this last 18 months has been technomate (a lot of it has been their own doing due to their software team admittedly, but its been technomate) before them was some satellite shop on some sort of 'order to order' scam type setup, before that was the clone DM800s, before that was clone DM500s, before that was the business ethics of a similar forum ripping people off with football viewing cards, before that, the Azbox, before that, duolabs cams, before that................
can you see a pattern here
but its mainly only on DW that youll read peoples horror stories about any of these
yes some posts / threads may get edited or removed, but its only to try and keep DW 'clean' theres NO other forum where you can read things like you can here
