Panasonic 50" plasma + 5 year warranty £499 John Lewis

anyone bought this TV or have it :)

Ive had LCD for about 7 years so moving to plasma

You will really notice the difference when you switch to plasma mate, but you'll also notice that you are putting more 50 pence pieces in your electricity meter. :)

Excellent picture but more expensive to run.

really ! I never knew that

I do have a little saved up :) and it is a cracking deal
but

I'm a tight arse : tongue:

I have a JL not far so may pop over there tomorrow and have a look in the flesh so to speak, I have a Panasonic store on my doorstep so might try there first :)

I hope they don't have it connected to a dodgy RF feed like our local Curry's used to do, lol

Every telly in the shop looked pish. :)

plasmas these days arnt the electric guzzlers they used to be.....

if you add up the cost over the year lcd will come on top but not by much....

as lcds consume about the same power constantly when switched on,where as a plamas power consumption varies alot between a dark screen and a bright screen ....

as others have said you will notice a better picture quality, i did when i switched to plasma from lcd.. i dout ill ever go back to lcd tbh.... :)

found this if it helps :) this is the ST though not S cant be much difference I wouldn't of thought

I went from lcd to plasma and i have the st 3d version of the above tv the 42" 3d version i am made up with it ive had it since just before Christmas i don't have one bad thing to say about it my dad liked mine that much he went out and bought the 50" and as expected exactly the same quality as the 42" this tv is great for gaming too as it has a very low input lag compared to other tvs, dont expect too much from the built in mkv player though it plays everything but i think its if the mkv as dts it wont play with any sound it has to have the stereo soundtrack ive heard these refereed to as porn mkvs lol. Definatley recomend this tv though if you look for one at the min.

just looking at the price i paid 550 for the 3d version with 2 pairs of glasses if im right its the same tv if you can find the deal still on at comet or anywhere you will get the 42" version cheap as you can get 120 for glasses

I went and looked at it today @ Panasonic store it was priced at £850 :Yikes: told him about the john lewis deal and he couldent get no where near it, cheapest he would do it for was £699, still a nice drop from £850 though

nice TV but couple of things that kinda put me off
framework is still quite large compared to other makes and the connections at the back go directly into back so leads will be bent, mine go up underneath the TV so they are straight with no kinks (hard to explain)

hmmmm undecided at the moment

HDMI Adapters make sure you pick ones which are the right way for your set up though

yeah guy in the shop mentioned those Shaun :) dunno

Go for it Rat, you know u want to.

BTW, those bottom plug-in sockets are a pain in the arse.

I'm always changing things and plugging different cables into my TV in the room, trying to see those bottom sockets is murder.
